Miz TV With Special Guest: Edge

The Miz: Edge complimented me, The Miz, can you believe it? A heartfelt compliment from Edge. Now, I have known Edge for 15 years and this just doesn’t sound like him. I can’t help but think he’s a shell of his former self. Or is he? Let’s find out. Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome at this time, The Rated R Superstar, Edge.

Edge: So, you’re confused by those compliments I gave you last week. Here’s the thing, I meant them. And I’m coming out here and I’m going to tell you the same thing, i still mean them.

The Miz: Oh, that is so sweet. But I just can’t help but think that The Rated R Superstar has lost his edge.

Edge: Wow, that’s a clever pun, Mike.

The Miz: See, the old Edge, the ultimate opportunist, the master manipulator would have speared me out of my $9,000 shoes.

Edge: Don’t mistake my, for lack of a better word, kindness for weakness, okay? I don’t know what’s going on here but clearly you have bigger issues than me. What is the deal?

The Miz: Kindness, let’s go on that kindness, because I don’t need your kindness and compliments right now. You know when I needed your kindness, was back when I first started in WWE in 2006, that’s when I needed your kindness. When I was walking on eggshells, that’s when I needed your kindness. Whenever everything I said and did was wrong, that’s why I need your kindness. When I was kicked out of the locker room, that’s when I needed your kindness.

But we both know I wasn’t kicked out of the locker room for eating a piece of chicken. No, I was kicked out of the locker room because I didn’t fit the mold, I was an outcast, I was ostracized. Everyone knew I had the it factor. But everyone was so busy protecting their spots, including you. So, instead of embracing a young star, coming fresh off of a hit show like MTV’s The Real World, I was treated like a peasant when I was more famous than 90 percent of the locker room. So, your kindness, I don’t want it or need it.

Edge: So you’re gonna paint me with that brush? You know, you’re glossing over some key points here because it was in this arena, where I pulled you aside and I told you, listen, man, you do have something, you do have an it, so, please, just ride through this. And even though it’s BS, you’re gonna be just fine.

The Miz: Oh, gee, thanks. Wow!

Edge: No, no, no. You know what? You know what you did? You brushed me off. You don’t remember that, do you? See, I went through the same things as you, seven years before. And if someone pulled me aside today, I’m sure I would have listened. See, the biggest difference between you and I, I didn’t walk into the locker room and think I’m more important and a bigger star than everyone else. And I’m not afraid of losing my spot. I see a new opponent, I see a new face, I see a new opportunity. I don’t hold people down. You want to blame everybody else, Mike. But here’s what you need to do. At the end of the day, tonight, you need to look at yourself in the mirror and that mirror is going to tell you the same thing it told you in 2006. Miz, you’re an ass.

The Miz: And you’re a hypocrite, and you’re vulnerable, and I have surpassed you in and out of the ring. 2022 is gonna be the year of Miz. And I can’t think of a better way to usher it in than beating you at January 1.

Edge: So, if that’s a challenge, you’re on.
