Description: MLW Anthology premieres with a special spotlight on one of Mexico’s most iconic luchadores: the legendary LA Park. Originally known as La Parka, LA Park has been one of the cornerstones of Major League Wrestling since its inception in 2002. From technical classics to heavy-hitting wars, LA Park’s storied career in the league is second to none.

AJ Kirsch: For nearly 20 years, Major League Wrestling has showcased some of the greatest athletes, legends, and classic title fights in our sport. Now, MLW looks back at some of those great moments, fighters, and fights in this special anthology series. In our first edition, we spotlight the career of a man who’s been with MLW since its inception. Originally known as LA Parka, which loosely translates to the reaper. Today, he’s a feared legend. He is La Authentica Park, The Original Park, better known as LA Park.

Originally rising to prominence in his homeland of Mexico, as one of the premiere luchadores for AAA, the heavy hitting dancing skeleton would become a force in Mexico’s grandest promotion. The iconic luchador would be a key figure in AAA’s growth both in Mexico and beyond. Winning three world championships, La Park would become one of the most recognized and successful luchadors of the past 25 years. In 2002, MLW would invite LA Park to join the new wrestling organization as it launched, and brought the very best of each style in the sport, promoting true hybrid wrestling style.

As one of the worlds best, Park would look to showcase his versatility as a heavy hitting, high flying brawler at MLW’s first ever event at the historic ECW Arena, where he battled Jerry Lynn in what fans considered a dream match. While Park’s initial MLW effort against Jerry Lynn was considered a must see encounter, a violently rivalry awaited LA Park, as he would have a new enemy in Sabu. We’ll see that match tonight. But before we see that classic carnage, this MLW Anthology kicks off with Park clashing with a man who was 1,000% Guapo, 2002’s biggest attraction in Mexico, he is Shocker. Let’s go back to September 2002 at the historic Manhattan Center featuring the original voice of MLW, Joey Styles, as he calls the action.
