Daniel Bryan & Shane McMahon In-Ring Segment:
— WWE (@WWE) December 20, 2017
Welcome to SmackDown Live. Bryan talks about the announcement of the Women’s Royal Rumble Match. It will be huge, awesome, and a turning point in WWE history. Tonight, in the main event, Sami Zayn, Kevin Owens, and Jinder Mahal will face Randy Orton, Shinsuke Nakamura and AJ Styles. Shane McMahon comes out to interrupt Bryan. What’s up Newark? Shane wants to talk about Clash of Champions. Everything was going the right way when Randy Orton hit Sami Zayn with an RKO. Shane was about to make the three count to see Owens and Zayn gone from WWE forever.
However, as he went down for the three count, Bryan tripped and broke up the count. He could’ve counted to 50. Bryan tells Shane that was an accident. Shane didn’t know that at the time. When Zayn rolled over Orton, Shane remembered what Kevin Owens did to his father, how Zayn cost him the Hell in a Cell Match, and screwing over Team Blue at Survivor Series. Out of nowhere, Bryan suddenly decides to make a fast count.
Bryan did what he did to protect Shane from himself. With all due respect, he doesn’t need protection from Bryan. With all due respect Shane, yes you do. Shane eats, sleeps, and breathes Smackdown. That passion turns him into a hot head. Bryan was protecting Shane and the idea of what Smackdown is about. He took this job because of a shared vision. A shared vision of a land of opportunity. A land of opportunity for everyone, not just people that Shane liked. He may not like Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens, but he threaten their livelihood and threaten to take away what they promised everyone.
Shane has been thinking about this. He understands why Bryan has empathy fort them. As soon as Owens and Zayn are done playing on Bryan’s empathetic heartstrings, they are going to stab him in the back. Bryan shouldn’t show favoritism because it will bite him in the ass. Bryan didn’t do what’s best for business? He heard those words before and he struggled and fought against those words. Bryan believed in Shane and Smackdown. If Shane has a different vision, that’s his prerogative. If Shane wants to fire someone, fire him. Bryan doesn’t want to see Shane-O Mac turn into Mr. McMahon. Shane respects him implicitly. He wishes Bryan luck with the show and walks out of the ring.

Dolph Ziggler US Championship Celebration:
— WWE (@WWE) December 20, 2017
Ziggler told you so. Why was Dolph Ziggler in the US Title Match, this is why. You think him being in the US Title match and walking out as champion was out of nowhere, then you have not been paying attention to the last twelve years. Ziggler walked into work and accepted every challenge given to him. Some might say they are the biggest or the baddest or the most charismatic.
That isn’t him because he’s the best. No one can do what he does in the ring. Ziggler reminds us that he was 2-time US Champion, 5-time Intercontinental Champion, former Money in the Bank Contract Holder and most importantly, two time WWE World Heavyweight Champion.
Ziggler is one of the most decorated superstars in WWE history. Night after night and year after year he proved it to himself and to the WWE Universe. Year after year, he goes unappreciated. The WWE Universe doesn’t deserve, Dolph Ziggler. Do you want something to remember him by? Ziggler drops the belt in the center of the ring.
