Grayson Waller: Hey, WWE, you want to get unreal? Let’s get unreal, because Grayson Waller has a live microphone, finally. I think it’s about time that I start rattling some cages. I made my main roster debut in the main event of Madison Square Garden, six weeks after I broke my leg on that announce table, six weeks. And most people would drown under the lights, but lad, I swam. WrestleMania XL, Lincoln Financial Field, 60,000 people, I stood on top of a ladder, and I brought home the SmackDown Tag Titles. I felt on top of the world, everything was going like I had planned, and then something changed. And I don’t know what it was, because it’s not my work ethic, it’s not my talent, maybe I was too honest, maybe I didn’t politic, maybe I didn’t kiss the right ass. But either way, the last two years of my career have been an absolute embarrassment and I’m man enough to admit it. I spent two years carrying 240 pounds of idiot, Austin Theory, on my back, making him relevant again. So much so, that these people actually chanted his name, never before, never since. But I don’t care how many bells and whistles you give him, at the end of the day, that Marty Jannetty is still allergic to the microphone.

It gets worse, the last year of my career, I pretended I was at a funeral. And I committed to the bit, I wore the silly hat, I climbed up every arena in this country, and on a live microphone, I told the world just how good someone else was. And the ironic thing is, I was dressed for a funeral, but the only thing dying was my career. But it’s a new day. And I can sit at home, cash a check, eat some salt and pepper chicken in catering once a week, but that ain’t me. What did I do? I got myself in the best shape of my life, lad. I’m hungrier than I’ve ever been. Every day, I go to war with myself, mentally and physically, because when I say I mean it, I need to feel like I mean it. And I got demons. And in order to get where I should be, I need to conquer some demons. And the one that’s keeping me awake at night, for a very long time, is the NXT Championship. Because you guys know it, that championship used to mean something. It used to represent the best wrestler in the world. Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn, Finn Balor, Shinsuke Nakamura, Seth Rollins, Johnny Gargano.

Even recently, Bron, Trick, Melo, Oba, they get to the main roster, and the red carpet gets rolled out. They get treated like gods, because that title represents the future of the industry. But I never had it, so I get treated like a Netflix ad-break comedy act. But not anymore, I’m ready to conquer my demons, I’m announcing right in the front of the world, right now, I’m here to talk the NXT Title. Because, honestly, who’s gonna stop me, Cruz Montana? I love the new name, by the way, it’s great. You walked in here last week, like you’re someone, man of the people. I know these people, Cruz, and the secret is, in about six weeks, they’re going to have a shiny new toy, and they’re not gonna care about you. But what really frustrates me, it’s that Cruz walks in here, like he’s gonna challenge for the NXT Title, straight away, because he was the top guy in TNA. It ain’t 2005, lad, being a top guy in TNA is like being the best basketball player at the local YMCA, I’m unimpressed. And speaking of being unimpressed, what about the champ? Hey, Tony D, why don’t you come do something? You finally got the chance to show the world what you could do, because there was no one left. So, I’m gonna do you a favor, Tony, I’m gonna send you back home to that ugly new-born baby of yours, go be a dad, this top guy stuff is not for you. What’s wrong? Shawn wants me to wrap it up? You tell Shawn to tune up the band if he’s got a problem with what I’m saying, he can’t do it himself. You’re gonna stop me? Are you gonna go to commercial, it’s too early. Hey, you know what, Shawn, why don’t you send out one of your guys?

Because Shawn has guys, I used to be one, but he’s moved on. In fact, I have a message for the NXT Roster. Hey guys, get off your phone, I know you’re probably filming a TikTok, maybe watch the show and learn something. Because I just walked in your house, I didn’t even wipe my feet, and everything I’m about to say, I mean it with the utmost disrespect. The NXT Male Roster is soft. You’re lazy, you’re complacent, you’re happy to be here. I know you fat flops will love this one, the women of NXT are running laps around you. Yet, still, 90% of you think you should be called up, tomorrow. But here’s the secret, ladies and gentlemen, I look at that roster, maybe 10% is ready, they’re all women. Because you got world-class athletes back there, I see you at the tryouts, all the passion and the energy, and then you come here, and you’re fine with putting WWE Superstar in your Instagram Bio, so you can play wrestler for six months, impress the mediocre girls in downtown Orlando, and spend all your time in medical.

And then you have the independent talent, my people, I love independent wrestlers, and you come here, and you do things in this ring that no one else can do. How good are they? But then you put a microphone in their hand, and all the energy gets sucked out of the room, because you’re a bunch of charisma vacuums. Hey, hey, and I know you’re looking over Shawn right now, seeing how he’s freaking out in the headset, but deep down inside, HBK is smiling, because I’m finally telling the truth. This men’s division has been for the taking for months. Hey, shut up, I don’t need your support, I’m cooking right now, let me cook. This men’s division has been for the taking for months, and none of you have done a thing about it, but I will. I’m gonna walk in, take the title, take the division, and I’m gonna take every opportunity that any of you was supposed to have. Because unfortunately, for that embarrassment of a roster, I’m starting to remember who Grayson Waller is. I’m the most underrated guy on this roster. I’m the all-around, pound for pound, best wrestler. I don’t need a mic. You don’t want to give me an opportunity, WWE, I just took one. Consider your cages rattled.

Waller’s microphone got cut off and the screen went to black as we head into commercial break.

– Coming out of the commercial break, we see Myles Borne and Tavion Heights in the locker room reacting to Grayson Waller’s Promo. Myles says that if Grayson wants to talk like that, then the game is on. Tavion mentions Cruz Montana joining NXT. Myles tells Tavion to focus on tonight. Tavion tells Myles Borne to take care of Kam Hendrix, and then they’re gonna take care of The Vanity Project next week. They’re gonna show everybody why they’re the face of the brand. Myles says that being a double champion sure sounds nice. Mason Rook joins the conversation. Did you hear what Waller just said? He comes to NXT, calls the roster a bunch of duffers, and tries to get the rub from them. Duffers are failures and disappointments. Mason is getting tired of people saying that the Men’s Division is not good, they’re damn good, and they just have to show it. Mason says that he’s going to get his hands on Kam Hendrix tonight. Myles knows that Mason has some unfinished business with Kam but needs him to stay out of the match. Mason says that he’s 110% ready to kick Kam Hendrix’s ass. Tavion tells Myles that he’s going to make sure that Mason doesn’t get involved. Mason says, is that right, as he walks away. Tavion tells Myles to lock in.

First Match: Izzi Dame w/Niko Vance vs. Lizzy Rain

– Noam Dar and Romeo Moreno welcomes to Cruz Montana to NXT. Cruz appreciates the warm welcome, it’s been a long time coming. Moreno tells Cruz that he’ll have his back. Cruz gives Moreno props for Spain winning the World Cup. Saquon Shugars joins the conversation. Noam apologies for what happened last week during their 6-Man Tag with DarkState. Saquon won’t lie, he loved how scrappy and Noam and Moreno were. Saquon says that Dion Lennox is still pulling splinters out of his ass, it is what it is. Moreno tells Saquon that they can run it back with DarkState. Saquon loves the sound of that. Cruz says that the last time he saw Saquon, he was whooping his ass all over the Theatre at Madison Square Garden. Saquon says that he’s a whole new individual now. Saquon doesn’t have DarkState holding him back anymore, he’s a changed man, let him handle this DarkState situation first. Cruz is curious to see how that’s going to plan out. Kelani Jordan appears. Before Cruz signs his NXT Contract, she just wants him to know what he’s getting himself into, because it’s a very unfair working environment. Cruz says that Kelani has come a long way from being the TNA Knockouts Champion. She had to, because she’s the best woman on this roster, and how did she get repaid? Getting screwed over, time and time, again. Kelani tells Cruz to run away, because he’s probably going to experience the same thing. She’s never got a shot at the NXT Women’s Championship. Cruz puts his shades on and walks away as Kelani goes on with this soliloquy about being treated unfairly. Kelani says that Cruz will fit in just fine, because he’s ignoring her just like everyone in NXT does.

– Coming out of the commercial break, we see The Vanity Project talking to Robert Stone in his office. They don’t like the way he’s running things in NXT. Back in their day, you had to earn title shots, and now Stone is just handing them out to anybody. Ricky Smokes says that Myles Borne’s title defense against Kam Hendrix has nothing to do with them. Stone reminds Swipe Right that they will be putting their titles on the line against The No Quarter Catch Crew, if Myles has a successful title defense tonight. Are they scared? Brad Baylor says that Myles and Tavion haven’t been a tag team for over a year. Swipe Right have been the best tag team in the game the moment they came to NXT. Jackson Drake says that Myles only chose to defend his title against Kam Hendrix, because he knows he can beat Kam Hendrix. Meanwhile, Jackson whooped Tavion’s ass two weeks ago, Myles wouldn’t stand a chance against him. Once this situation gets situated, Swipe Right will still be the NXT Tag Team Champions, and one day very soon, Jackson Drake will become the NXT North American Champion. Keanu Carver appears. Myka Lockwood starts looking down Keanu. Jackson asks Myka if she’s ready to leave. Myka says that she is now with a smile on her face. Before Keanu can say anything, Stone apologies for what happened with EK Prosper last week. Keanu tells Stone to relax, he’s not upset, he just wants a match with Prosper next week, that’s it. Stone makes the match official. Keanu shakes hands with Stone. Stone received a phone call from Grayson Waller. Stone tells Waller to get back in the building, because they’re not finished.

Lola Vice Promo 

The reality is, there’s a lot that you can say about the NXT Women’s Championship, there’s a lot you can say about Kendal Grey, but next Tuesday, Kendal is stepping into my world, and I’m not just talking about The Underground. Kendal Grey doesn’t know what it’s like to be knocked out. She doesn’t know what it’s like to step in a cage. She doesn’t know what it’s like to put her head down, humble herself, and prove that she’s undeniable in a whole new world, but I do. I busted my ass to prove myself in the toughest Women’s Division in wrestling. And when I didn’t feel enough, I traveled to Mexico, wrestled for AAA and Lola Vice became undeniable, like I always said I would. The champion of the deepest Women’s Division in wrestling can’t just be happy to be here, she needs to have a chip on her shoulder. And Kendal will run this division one day, but it’s not going to be while I’m still here. I showed I could handle the balance, I show it in my work ethic, I prove it with every win. In The Underground, an Amateur Wrestler is stepping into a real fight. Kendal is stepping into a world she knows nothing about, a world of pressure. In The Underground, I have the advantage. Next week, I’m going to expose Kendal Grey. And after I knock her out, she’ll be left with the biggest chip on her shoulder, and I’ll be a 2X NXT Women’s Champion.

– Coming out of the commercial break, we see Thea Hail talking to Jaida Parker in the Women’s Locker Room. Thea is super giddy about Jaida beating NATTIE last week. Jaida says that she’s very happy, because you can sit and wait for an opportunity or you got out and make one, and she did that. A dub is a dub in her book. Thea says that the right woman got her hand raised last week. Jaida tells Thea that she knows that she hasn’t been the easiest person to deal with in the locker room, and she’s very appreciative for what Thea did for her last week. If anybody knows how difficult this locker room is, it’s Thea, sometimes you get a little lonely. Jaida said that Nattie made her feel that way. Thea tells Jaida that she has her back. Thea had a conversation with Robert Stone, and Nattie is really pissed. Next week on NXT, Jaida and Thea will be having a tag team match against Nikkita Lyons and Karmen Petrovic. Say less, says Jaida, she’s all for it. Jaida says that Thea has been the most trustworthy person in this locker room, so she has her back as well. Thea gives Jaida a big hug.

Second Match: Myles Borne (c) vs. Kam Hendrix For The WWE NXT North American Championship. If Myles Wins, The No Quarter Catch Crew Will Battle The Vanity Project For The WWE NXT Tag Team Championship

– Emily Agard had a backstage interview with Lizzy Rain. What is next for The Maiden Of Metal? And Why Is She Eating Popcorn Chicken from KFC? Lizzy says that you get amped up before a wrestling match, but when it’s done, you’re starving. Shiloh Hill put her on this KFC Popcorn Chicken Kick, and it’s the perfect refill. Lizzy feels like she can kick Izzi Dame’s ass all over again. Hopefully Izzi is in the rearview mirror, because Lizzy is keeping her eyes on the Underground Match next week with Kendal Grey and Lola Vice for the NXT Women’s Championship. Lizzy says that’s going to be a real scrap. Tristan Angels joins the conversation. Tristan is extremely disappointed in her. Once again, she’s taking inspiration from that filthy, Shiloh Hill. Perhaps after he’s done beating Shiloh, with or without the fake tooth, maybe Lizzy will reconsider who her role models are around here.

– We see OTM preparing for their match with The Birthright. Bronco Nima asks Lucien Price if he’s ready. Angel and Berto from Perros Del Mal joins the conversation. No matter where Bronco goes, they’ll always be there for him. Bronco tells Lucien that it’s time to eat. Lucien stares down Angel and Berto as he walks away.

– Coming out of the commercial break, Robert Stone tells Grayson Waller to meet him in his office when he comes back to the Performance Center. Zaria appears. Zaria wants to talk about who her next challenger is going to be, seeing as the last title defense was supposed to be a one-on-one match, and Stone decided to add three challengers to the mix. Stone says that was an interesting situation, it wasn’t supposed to go that way. Wren Sinclair joins the conversation. Zaria tells Wren that they’re busy. Wren mentions that Kendal Grey is training for her Underground Match, and she wants to know who her next challenger is going to be.  Zaria says that the Women’s North American Title takes precedence over the WWE Speed Women’s Championship. Stone tells Wren that he has to draw up another tournament. Wren says that Zaria should fill one of those spots since she’s such a great champion. And that’s exactly why Zaria shouldn’t be competing in tournaments. Wren says that she can be Zaria’s next challenger, and she wouldn’t mind being a double champion, the last double champion after all was Sol Ruca. Stone says that he has a stipulation that works for both of them. Next week, Wren will put her WWE Speed Women’s Championship on the line against Zaria. If Wren Wins, She’ll Get An Opportunity at The WWE NXT Women’s North American Championship. Wren likes that a lot. Zaria tells Wren to count her days.

Third Match: The Birthright vs. OTM 

Uriah Connors and Bronco Nima will start things off. Collar and Elbow Tie Up. Nima sends Connors face first into the canvas. Connors tags in Stacks. Stacks drop steps into a side headlock. Nima launches Stacks across the ring. Stacks runs into Nima. Stacks with a forearm smash. Nima whips Stacks across the ring. Stacks holds onto the ropes. Stacks kicks Nima in the face. Next week, it’s no question, this will be the biggest match in my career so far. Taking on Lola Vice, putting this title on the line in an Underground Match, where she’s been undefeated. But you know what? I’m coming back to what made me, Kendal Grey, and that’s training with my dad. My dad taught me at a young age, he said, the most important conversation is the one that you have with yourself. You wake up with it, you walk around with it, you go to sleep it, and eventually you act on it. I’m the underdog. Lola can submit you from any angle. Her striking is elite, but that’s why I took this challenge, that’s why I won The Iron Survivor, the EVOLVE Women’s Championship, and now the new NXT Women’s Champion. But for this one, I brought in some extra help in Julius Creed. I’ve said it before, Julius was the one who got me to WWE, he saw something in me before anyone did, and I wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for him. Next week, it’s the match people want to see. Lola Vice versus Kendal Grey, it’s the best versus the best, who’s the greatest crossover athlete in the WWE? She thinks it’s her, but I know it’s me, and we’re going to see in the Underground.

– Coming out of the commercial break, we see Kali Armstrong venting in the Women’s Locker Room. Kali says that it should’ve been her who’s squabbling up with Kendal Grey next week. Izzi Dame reminds Kali that she just got here. Kali and Lizzy need to wait their turn, because Izzi has only had one shot at the NXT Women’s Championship. Kali says that The Difference Maker doesn’t wait for anything. Kelani Jordan joins the conversation. Kelani says that’s a bold statement from somebody she already pinned, and if the referee wasn’t blind, she would be the number one contender. But you know what’s really crazy? Izzi and Kelani would’ve been tied for the same amount of title matches. It’s never easy for Kelani Jordan. Kelani says, no matter who survives The Underground Match, or any woman that joins this division, she will become the NXT Women’s Champion. Reina Volcan appears. Reina says that this division doesn’t rebuild, it reloads.

Fourth Match: Shiloh Hill vs. Tristan Angels 

Angels is playing mind games with Hill after the bell rings. Hill blocks a right hand from Angels. Hill HeadButts Angels. Hill with a running shoulder block. Hill sends Angels to the corner. Angels kicks Hill in the face. Hill with a Back Body Drop. Hill with a Running Back Elbow Smash. Hill follows that with a short-arm clothesline. Angels with a throat thrust. Short-Arm Reversal by Hill. Hill decks Angels with a back elbow smash. Hill with The Shoulder Breaker for a two count. Angels sends Hill shoulder first into the middle turnbuckle pad. Angels with a hair pull takedown. Angels hammers down on the back of Hill’s neck. Angels with a knife edge chop. Angels whips Hill across the ring. Hill with a leaping knee smash. Hill with a hair pull takedown. Hill ducks under two clotheslines from Angels. Hill drops Angels with a Running Shoulder Tackle.

Hill punches Angels in the back. Angels reverses out of the irish whip from Hill. Angels with The NeckBreaker off the ring apron. Angels talks smack to Hill. Angels has complete control of the match during the commercial break. Angels reverses out of the irish whip from Hill. Angels blocks the double boot. Angels with The Draping Backstabber. Hill side steps Angels into the turnbuckles. Hill and Angels are trading back and forth shots. Angels reverses out of the irish whip from Hill. Hill scores the forearm knockdown. Hill with The Big Boot. Hill with a Tilt-A-Whirl Powerslam. Hill follows that with an Inside Out Senton Splash for a two count. Angels and Hill are exchanging blows on the middle rope. Angels with a Step Up Enzuigiri. Angels with The SuperPlex for a two count. Angels repeatedly slaps Hill in the face. Hill with a palm strike. Hill clotheslines Angels over the top rope. Angels with a drop toe hold into the announce table. Angels sends Hill crashing into the steel ring steps. Angels goes for a Knee Drop, but Hill ducks out of the way. Hill PowerBombs Angels onto the announce table. Hill rolls Angels back into the ring. Hill hooks both legs for a two count. Hill goes for a Belly to Back Suplex, but Angels lands back on his feet. Angels with The O’Connor Roll. The referee catches Angels using the middle rope for leverage. Angels argues with the referee. Hill with a Pop Up Forearm. Hill with a running shoulder block in the corner. Hill puts Angels on the top turnbuckle. Hill connects with The Super Thunder Breaker to pickup the victory.

Cruz Montana: Hey, yo, NXT, what’s good? Listen, you know I always pride myself on being real, so I gotta keep it a buck with all of y’all. These are words I never thought I would say. Cruz Montana is officially a WWE Superstar. And check it, there was a lot of times that I didn’t think I would see tomorrow. Not TNA, not WWE, another day of life. Because where I came up was in some of toughest neighborhoods in New York City. The Low Eastside to The Boogey Down Bronx, baby. And every single day was a struggle, and a fight to survive. And I’ll tell you what, I was no saint, I made mistakes that I can’t take back, but I learned that most of those nights, I was fighting the man in the mirror. There was a lot of times I thought that this dream was dead for me, so I had to make a decision. Either I was going to be another story of wasted potential or I was gonna be the man that my daughter deserves to call her father. And then they told me I reached my ceiling as a tag team wrestler. They said I could not be the guy. And I’ll be honest, it did a little something inside of me. For 20 years, I have fought the toughest battles within myself, and I was on a losing streak, but then I started to win, baby. And every single step forward wasn’t me chasing validation, it was me proving and taking advantage of the opportunity I was given at a second chance.

And I rebuilt my career, one match at a time, one city at a time, one opportunity at a time. And I’ll tell you this, because I got to get this off my chest, I love and appreciate what TNA did for me. But tonight, tonight I stand here as a WWE Superstar, and not a damn thing was given to me. I’m not gonna allow my past to dictate my future, only I could do that. And look at me now, standing here in the place that everyone wants to be. And I’m at the beginning of the chapter that I’ve been chasing my entire life. But guess what? Guess what? Last year, I came here to NXT with one mission in mind, and I wanted to prove that I had what it takes to be amongst the greatest in the WWE. And tonight, I’m not here to fill a spot, I’m here to take a spot, and that spot is the new NXT Champion. And check me, to that Grayson Waller dude, cute little promo, homeboy, but whatever I got to say to you, I’ll step to your face, and we can meet at whatever YMCA you want, homeboy.

Tony D’Angelo: Welcome to NXT, Cruz. Since you wanted to interrupt me last week, I figured I would come out here and introduce myself, properly. My name is Tony D’Angelo, THE NXT Champion. Now, for the past few years, I’ve seen some of the hottest names in free agency walk through the door, come to this ring, and address the WWE Universe, telling them how they’re gonna run NXT. Win the championships. Change the business, the whole nine. Now, look, everything you just said, with all that passion, I believe you, I believed every single word you said, except one tiny thing, the spot you want, the spot of NXT Champion. Now, unfortunately for you, as well as Kangaroo Jack, that spot is taken until further notice. Now, you could be the realest, you could be the nastiest, you could be the baddest on the block, Cruz, but one thing you will not be is the NXT Champion.

Cruz Montana: I’m gonna cut your ass off, right there, because how about I show you exactly how I’m gonna take that spot?

Grayson Waller shoves Montana into Angelo. Waller scores a right jab. Waller and Angelo start trading back and forth shots. Angelo goes for The Dead To Rights, but Waller counters with a knee strike. Montana inadvertently clocks Angelo with Spin The Block. That leads us to a huge standoff as the show goes off the air.
