Stephanie McMahon: This is pretty amazing, this is very powerful out here. I gotta say, I’ve been out here for a lot of superstar entrances, that just felt really incredible. And on Monday night, Oba, you said that Brock Lesnar used to run this place and now all he does is run from you. But in two weeks at SummerSlam, he’s not going to have that opportunity in the Hell In A Cell. So, how do you feel, is there any trepidation as you guys are one-one going into probably one of the most important and most dangerous match of your career?

Oba Femi: You’re right, Steph, the score is 1-1. And some people will go as far as to say, you’re only as good as your last game, and my last outing against Brock didn’t go out in my favor. But when it comes to the mental game, I’m miles ahead of him, because I’m in his head. I live in his head.

Stephanie McMahon: Sounds like everybody here is in complete agreement with you.

Oba Femi: Of course they are, because I’m not the one who’s acting out of character, he is. He’s the one who lost at WrestleMania. He’s the one who fake retired. He’s the one who’s walked away. – Cathy Kelley had a backstage interview with Sami Zayn. Does he any thoughts on GUNTHER calling him a bum? Sami has been trying to avoid interviews, because he’s trying to choose his words wisely. Sami says that everything that happened after he became the WWE Champion was egregious. CM Punk and Cody Rhodes are walking into a main event of SummerSlam, and all they had to do was say, when? Sami had to scratch and crawl through a glass ceiling for over 10 years in the WWE, and all Punk and Cody had to do was say, when. He tried to have a conversation with Nick Aldis, and instead of having the opportunity at a rematch, he gets booked into a tag match with a tag partner who thinks they’re not on the same level. GUNTHER joins the conversation. Gunther tells Sami, whatever he does tonight, make sure it doesn’t get in the way of him going to SummerSlam.

Second Match: Danhausen vs. JD McDonagh w/The Judgment Day In A No Disqualification Match

McDonagh rolls out of the ring after Danhausen does his You Are Cursed Routine. Dominik Mysterio immediately hops on the ring apron to distract Danhausen. McDonagh attacks Danhausen from behind. McDonagh with a chop/jab combination. McDonagh is choking Danhausen with his boot. McDonagh tosses Danhausen around the ringside area. McDonagh drives Danhausen face first into the steel ring post. McDonagh slams Danhausen’s head on the announce table. Forearm Exchange. Judgment Day takes turns dribbling Danhausen’s head on the announce table. McDonagh talks smack to Danhausen. – Cathy Kelley had a backstage interview with Lyra Valkyria. How is she feeling going into the ring with her former best-friend tonight? You know what’s funny, the last time Bayley and Lyra were at Madison Square Garden, they were fighting for the Women’s Tag Team Championships. Lyra says that for her entire career, she always wanted to be proud of the way she did things. After tonight, Lyra claims that Bayley will be out of her head, forever.

– Cathy Kelley had a backstage interview with CM Punk and Cody Rhodes. How motivated are they to keep their main event at SummerSlam a one-on-one match? Cody tells Cathy that she forgot to ask the age-old question. Can they co-exist? Will they co-exist? Cody says that they will co-exist, because they’re good friends and they’re going to do everything they can to prevent a Fatal Four-Way Match at SummerSlam. Punk says that Cody is trying out angle him. Cody wants Punk to make sure that there’s no excuses when he loses at SummerSlam. Punk says that he’s going to be watching Cody’s back. Punk reiterates the same thing Cody said about having no excuses for their match at SummerSlam. Cody and Punk start going back and forth about who should go out first. As Punk was saying that the champion goes second, Cody’s music hits.

Fourth Match: CM Punk & Cody Rhodes vs. GUNTHER & Sami Zayn. If GUNTHER & Sami Win, They’ll Be Added To The Undisputed WWE Championship Match At SummerSlam

All hell is breaking loose in The Garden before the bell rings. Punk applies a wrist lock. Punk tags in Rhodes. Rhodes with a flying double axe handle strike. Rhodes whips Zayn across the ring. Rhodes with The Kitchen Sink. Rhodes applies a wrist lock. Rhodes wrenches on the left shoulder of Zayn. Rhodes tags in Punk. Punk with a Flying Double Axe Handle Strike. Gunther blasts Rhodes with the running belt shot. Gunther throws the title out of the Ring. Gunther PowerBombs Rhodes for a two count as a second official slid into the ring. Nick Aldis yanks the second official out of the ring. Gunther is pissed. Aldis clocks Gunther with the WWE Championship. Punk plants Gunther with The GTS. Aldis throws Charles Robinson back into the ring. Punk drags Rhodes on top of Gunther to pickup the victory. After the match, Rhodes gives the WWE Title back to Punk. Rhodes celebrates with Punk. Punk inadvertently flicks the title at Rhodes face as he was walking out of the ring.

Roman Reigns & Jalen Brunson Acknowledgement Ceremony

Roman Reigns: Well, this is something you don’t see every day, now, do you? Some of you are probably thinking, what are we doing right now? This is where greatness acknowledges greatness. And it’s no secret, this city is the home of WWE. And I’m not gonna lie, every time I come here, you make The Tribal Chief feel like he’s home, too. I think I speak for all of us, 53 years, that was way too long. And Jalen would tell y’all, it’s a team sport, I’ll tell you that there’s only one Tribal Chief, and there’s only one captain. The Finals MVP. NBA Champion. And The King Of New York. But you see, here in the WWE, every champ in WWE needs a title, so The Tribal Chief made some moves.

– Roman presented Jalen Brunson with a New York Knicks Version of the World Heavyweight Championship Belt.

Roman Reigns: Not only does he deserve it, this man earned it. Now it’s complete and now it’s time. Madison Square Garden. New York City. Acknowledge Us.

Roman and Jalen raise both of the titles up in the air. Seth Rollins music hits. Tyrese Haliburton walks down to the ring holding a steel chair. Seth Rollins attacks Reigns from behind. Rollins repeatedly stomps on Reigns chest. Haliburton hands Rollins the chair. Rollins tells Brunson to stand back. Rollins SuperKicks Reigns. Rollins tells Reigns that this is his world, and he doesn’t acknowledge a damn thing. Rollins places Reigns head on the chair. Rollins prepares for The Curb Stomp. Jalen Brunson stops Rollins in his tracks. Rollins says that he’ll drop Brunson right where he stands. Reigns clocks Rollins with The Superman Punch. Reigns Spears Rollins. Reigns raises the Larry O’Brien Trophy up in the air while Brunson is holding the World Heavyweight Championship up as the show goes off the air.
