Dion Lennox & Saquon Shugars Segment

Dion Lennox: Why are we here, Quon? You wanna talk or you trying to do me like you did Cut and Os? We both you know you ain’t gonna come straight up with your scary ass, so no matter what you say, I’ve already decided how The Great American Bash is gonna go.

Saquon Shugars: Relax, D, ain’t nobody here to box with you right now. Fool, I’m just here to tell you that I got exactly what I wanted. You, one-on-one. Hey man, 35 days ago, y’all sent me flying and I went crashing through that announce table. I felt my spine shoot up my nose, G, and I knew I can’t be lacking by DarkState, again. But I don’t move scared, nah, I move smart, that’s why I took your little riders out, first. I don’t got to act off anger, I just made sure it was me and the head of the snake, in the middle of this ring at The Great American Bash. But I can’t fade, man, I heard what y’all said, man, y’all came out here and told the people why you did what you did, why you cut me loose, man, and I got to thinking, damn, like, man, am I the issue? Did I do something wrong? Like, did I let you down? Nah, you the one that got to moving weird, you the one that started acting like you were the leader when we never need that. The whole time, what NXT needed was for up next Saquon Shugars to be put into positions that you were given. So, what you call me, I’m just an indie wrestler? Okay, maybe you’re right, emphasis on wrestler. This is what I do. You’re just another pretender trying to take my spot.

Dion Lennox: See, now you’re lying. You called me the leader, so let’s call it how it is. You put Saquon Shugars next to Dion Lennox, who screams superstar? It ain’t you. I wasn’t put in those high-profile positions because I got lucky, I was put there because that’s how it’s supposed to be. Clearly, Cut and Osiris know that, too. DarkState was never supposed to have Saquon Shugars in it. We brought you in, we got what we needed, and on Sunday, when we move on and leave you in the past.

Saquon Shugars: Hey, fool, there ain’t no DarkState without Saquon Shugars, man. I’m hot, man, because I loved y’all boys. Like, real talk, I loved y’all, man, and you knew that, bro. More importantly, you knew I was the glue holding this whole thing together. What, Cutler James, he can’t put one foot in front of the other without me telling him where to go. Osiris can’t wipe his ass without me holding his hand. They’re lost without me. And fool, you’re thick in the head if you think you compare to me in anyway. You can’t lace my boots, my wrist tape will burn your hands, if you tried on my jockstrap, it would be a baggy fit. You can’t touch me, boy. And at The Bash, I’m gonna prove to you and the world why I’m up next, and you’re up never, and it don’t get no sweeter than that.

Dion Lennox: Oh, man, look, ever since we dropped you, all I’ve been seeing is how Saquon is gonna show the world how great he is. He’s the coolest, he’s different, he up next. Do y’all know that everything y’all love about Saquon is fake, right? He’s putting on a facade, you forget, we know you. The insecurities, the overthinking, the worrying about all the wrong things. These people never saw that, because we showed them what they wanted to see. They never knew that we couldn’t count on you. That when it was moments before go time, you would disappear, making us wonder if you were going to be there for us or not. They didn’t know that you would come to me for reassurance, because you can’t do anything on your own without second guessing. You were a distraction that we spent more time babysitting than chasing our own goals. So, look, dropping you wasn’t no mistake, it was a correction. And what, now, now, you ready to set the whole world on fire, ain’t you? Ain’t nothing gonna change, bro. You’re still your own worst enemy. You’re still the same self-conscious goofy that you’ve always been. At The Great American Bash, there’s gonna come a moment where you hesitate, and that is where I expose you. Your name is already signed on the dotted line of your death warrant. And on Sunday, I stamp it.

– We see Hank & Tank chatting with Comedian Matt Matthews in the back. Robert Stone is in the background having a conversation with The Vanity Project. Hank & Tank are focus on beating The Birthright tonight.

Myles Borne & Tavion Heights Segment

Myles Borne: I fear comfort. I spent my whole life being uncomfortable. And I knew in The NQCC, I was becoming comfortable, I was just becoming another guy in a group with no direction, no purpose. I didn’t want that. I knew what I was capable of and I didn’t want to wait. Everyone said to bet on yourself, and I did just that. And Tavion, he is my brother, but sometimes I feel like he wishes that I didn’t bet on myself, and that instead, I just stayed with him.

Tavion Heights: Look, I’ve never been afraid to be myself. And for a long time, I’ve rubbed people the wrong way, so I walked alone. But when I came into The NQCC, when I started tagging with Myles, I found a brother for life. And don’t get me wrong, Myles didn’t outgrow our friendship, he just forgot about it. And yeah, he went on to have success like we all knew he would, but now he gets a little bit of attention, he wants to act like he built this all on his own, like we didn’t talk about reaching the top of NXT together? Myles became champion, and I got pushed aside? Exactly what makes Myles better than me? I was there before everything, and what did it get me? I will not be forgotten. At The Great American Bash, I’m gonna be selfish, I’m not thinking about The NQCC, I’m not thinking about Myles, I’m thinking about proving I’m exactly who I say I am when I leave The Great American Bash as the new NXT North American Champion.

Myles Borne: T, At Great American Bash, I am walking in as your former partner, but I’m walking out as proof that I made the right choice when I’m still your NXT North American Champion.

– We see Tavion Heights talking to Wren Sinclair in front of a monitor. Wren says that sometimes the best way to preserve a friendship is just take yourself out for a little bit. Tavion says that’s really easy for Wren to say because she’s got a title. Myles Borne has a title. Charlie Dempsey has The Birthright. Tavion has nothing going for him. Wren says that Tavion has anger issues and a chip on his shoulder. Kendal Grey appears after Tavion walked away. Kendal asks Wren who she thinks is going to win the Finals Of The Women’s Speed Tournament. On one hand, Wren calls Izzi Dame a mean cult leader who looks she skins Muppets for fun. And on the other hand, we have a spoiled brat in Arianna Grace, with a pack of rats and that traitor, Charlie Dempsey. Wren doesn’t care who wins, she’s just glad to be medically cleared to compete. Kendal visualizes the idea of them both walking out of The Great American Bash as champions and then celebrating with a two layered cake. Kendal tells Wren that she’ll see her later, because she has to get ready for the contract signing.

– Sarah Schreiber had a backstage interview with Shiloh Hill. Are things even with Shiloh and Tristan after what happened earlier tonight? Shiloh says not even close. Shiloh was more nervous for the Mr. NXT Pageant than he was any other match in his career. For that pageant, he had to opened up about finding himself, and right as he let his guard down to be real with the NXT Universe, Tristan took advantage of that. Shiloh and Tristan are far from even. He hopes that Tristan has been enjoying all the pageantry, because now that he’s cleared, body and mind, things are going to get a whole lot worse for him. Shiloh says that the taste of inflicting punishment on Tristan is addicting and he’s craving it. Shiloh says that he’s going to make Tristan Angels regret what he did at The Great American Bash, and he’s going to show him why no one sleeps on Shiloh Hill. Shiloh does his maniac laugh and walks away.

– Tony D’Angelo is still receiving medical attention after getting hit with a fireball from NARAKU.

Lola Vice & Kendal Grey Contract Signing

Robert Stone: Alright, ladies, look, I know this was supposed to be a double contract signing, but now with one of my main events in question, I need to make sure that the other main event title match at The Great American Bash happens.

Kendal Grey: Lola, I want you to know, what happened on Tuesday was an accident.

Lola Vice: No, you were just trying to get your lick back.

Kendal Grey: No, I’m trying to redeem myself from New York, actually.

Lola Vice: Forget about New York. Kendal, your redemption story will not be at my expense, you have a long way to go, mama. I came here, and I humbled myself. I had all the hype in the world, and I started from scratch again in order to one day earn this championship.

Kendal Grey: Yeah, and you coming here was a big deal. And when I saw you do it, I thought maybe I can, too. And now we’re both here being two of the biggest crossover athletes that WWE has.

Lola Vice: Yeah, and I don’t take that for granted, mama. This is the first time there’s two crossover female fighters at the top of NXT. Shayna was dominant, but no one could figure out her style. That’s the thing, I have you figured out. You crumble under pressure, and on Sunday, I will show you why I’m number one and you’re number two.

Kendal Grey: Lola, you’re a superstar. Breakout Tournament Winner. Queen Of The Underground. Double Champion. But when I came to WWE, I was an undefeated amateur wrestler. But when the lights had shined the brightest here, one thing is for sure, I failed.

Lola Vice: I get it, I did, too.

Kendal Grey: Yeah, but that’s not going to be the case at The Great American Bash. I want to be at the top of the NXT Women’s Division. I want to lead this division. I need to win. I mean, you’ve seen what has done for everyone who held that title, they all raised the bar, but I plan on raising it even more. Lola, you’re number one for right now, until Sunday. Everyone is waiting to see what Kendal Grey does with that NXT Women’s Championship, and they’re going to find out at The Great American Bash.

– Kendal signs the contract.

Lola Vice: Kendal, that inspiration you feel, the desire to change the guard, I did that for you. The thing is, you’re not doing anything that I haven’t done. You are the future. You will have your time. You will have your moment. People will continue to talk about Kendal Grey. Your matches will further women’s wrestling, and keep this NXT Women’s Division, the best division in the world. I know what it means to win this NXT Women’s Championship. You will have your success, mama, but not while I’m champion. And at The Great American Bash, I will answer all questions. I will beat you. I will retain. And you will learn what it means to humble yourself, put your head down the same way that I had to so many times. At some point, Kendal Grey will push this NXT Women’s Division further, but it will be when Lola Vice is done, and I’m not done yet. I’ll see you at Bash.

Tatum Paxley, a year ago, we were both standing in other people’s shadows, watching them fight over this very championship. And now look at us. We broke free, we stood on our own, and we were able to call ourselves champion. Which so happens that my reign began at the expense of yours. But of course, in Tatum Paxley Fashion, you couldn’t let things go. You like everyone else can’t let me enjoy my success. Last week, you had to cost me my tag match and embarrass me in my first match as champion. Tatum, I don’t care if you get attached to people or objects, you are addicted to pain, so I’m going to take a page out of your own book. I’m going to give you your rematch at The Great American Bash, so I can beat you again, and then you can revel in that pain, forever.
