Edge Promo

Seth, I saw what you said last week, but more importantly, I heard what you said, I really heard what you said. And it sat with me. Your boot on the back of my neck, my face, mashed into that money in the bank briefcase. I know it was 2014, but I still feel it like it was yesterday. And I’ll be honest, I was worried. I was worried about the way of my life, I was worried about my wife, I was worried about my kids. And last week, you threatened all of those same things, again. Now, I know what that curb stomp can do to me. I do have a triple fusion in my neck. I know that if you hit that curb stomp, it probably ends my career. It affects my way of life. It affects my ability to be the father that I need to be. And I get it, you threatened those things, and that’s the thing to do when you face Edge, that’s the mind game you play, because it’s supposed to hit me in the heart.

Except, at the end of the day, I know they’re just that, they’re mind games. Except with you, Seth, you see, because I take my cues from the eyes. And, Seth, I look in your eyes, and you mean everything you say. You’re an all-time talent. I’ll give you that credit. I’ll never take that away from you. But, man, you have pushed me into a dark place. You have pushed me into a place that I don’t like to go, because it is so hard to come back. And because, if I’m being truthful, it’s because I like it. You have made me find a place in my heart where the blood runs black. You see, I do see clearly, on this day, I see that at SummerSlam, I don’t just have to beat you, I have to break you. I have to humble you. And, Seth, at SummerSlam, I am going to burn you down.

Roman Reigns & John Cena Segment

Roman Reigns: This man thinks he can pin me, 1-2-3. Wise man, when’s the last time I lost?

Paul Heyman: My Tribal Chief, no one has ever beaten this Roman Reigns.

John Cena: If a month ago I asked everybody, okay, John Cena and Roman Reigns have a match at SummerSlam, everybody says Roman Reigns is going to win because John Cena is going to film a movie. The movie part is right, you win is dead wrong, because they all know why I’m here. You just don’t get it. I am here to take the championship from you. Go do the movies so you have to stay here an embarrass shell of yourself failure. I’m not saying you’re not great, but you have lost control. You are protected in this egomaniac bubble and you need to be brought down to earth. And all that’s going to take is, 1-2-3. I mean, dude, are you really that naïve? You couldn’t see all the signs? Summer Of Cena, that is one hell of a tip off. A flimsy contract written in fat blue sharpie. How is that even legal?

Dude, I am not here to promote movies, I am here to demote your ass. This is a match he never wanted. And this is a match made for me. Because you tell people to believe that, acknowledge you, it’s your yard, wreck em and leave, a bunch of other BS. I tell people the same thing for 20 years. Never Give Up. And the reason you’re so frustrated is because, tomorrow, that’s all I have to do. If you get distracted, 1-2-3. You make a mistake, 1-2-3. If you’re not perfect, it’s, 1-2-3. And at SummerSlam, 1-2-3 equals 17, WWE Universe. Tomorrow, I will break the all-time championship record. Thanks to Roman Reigns. Tomorrow, SmackDown will no longer have a resident Universal Champion until WrestleMania in Dallas. See you there, thanks to Roman Reigns. Tomorrow, the impossible becomes possible, when the champ is here, thanks to Roman Reigns. And all it takes is, 1-2-3.

Roman Reigns: You don’t get it, do you. And I’m trying to rationalize, I’m trying to understand it, you’ve been busy, movies, premieres, dress up, it’s a little weird, but I get it. You should have smartened yourself up before you came back, John. Because wen people step in the ring with me, I smash them so bad that WWE don’t have a use for them anymore. Do you understand? Who puts you above that? What makes you so special? Because you’re in Hollywood now, you’re a movie guy, you think I can’t go to Hollywood, John? You think I can’t make movies and commercials, and do the whole nine? You think you’re better than me? It’s Vegas, right. Let’s raise the stakes. Either I’m leaving that stadium as the Universal Champion or I’m leaving WWE.

Reigns and Cena starts shaking hands. Reigns goes for The Attitude Adjustment, but Cena lands back on his feet. Cena rolls Reigns over for a 1-2-3 to close the show.
