Edge Segment

WrestleMania was supposed to be the culmination of a ten year story. Winning the Universal Championship, ten years to the day after being forced to retire as the World Heavyweight Champion, would have made for a hell a story, wouldn’t it? And I envisioned it so much, I knew it would happened, and then it didn’t. I didn’t see that coming, that wasn’t in my plans, that wasn’t in my vision. Now, I’ll be fully transparent, it rocked me, so I took some time, but eventually in that time, I started to roll the match back in my brain. Hell, I even watched the match back and I never do that. And Roman likes to embroider the truth, and he glossed over a lot of key points that happen at WrestleMania. I couldn’t complain about how WrestleMania went down, about how my one fear of Daniel Bryan being involved in that match would cost me the Universal Championship, and he did. How he stopped Roman from tapping out to my crossface, how he pulled the referee out before the referee can count to three after I speared Roman.

And, believe me, Roman’s shoulders were stapled to that mat, he wasn’t coming up. I could complain about how Jey Uso stopped me from hitting the conchairto on Roman which lead to the end of the match. I could complain about all of these things, I could, and I would be justified in doing it. 2006 Edge would’ve. But in 2021, I have to understand that there’s always going to be excuses, there’s always going to be obstacles. Hell, I’ve spent my entire career knocking down obstacles or I wouldn’t be standing here right now. I don’t stop. Now, here’s the thing, now that I’ve been in here with Roman, one on one, I know that I can beat him. And more importantly, Roman, you know, I can beat you. We are the only ones who know it, because you felt it and I felt it. And I know you’re never gonna admit it, but I’ve got some proof, throw the picture up on the tron.

Zoom in on Roman’s eyes, zoom in on those, yeah, look at those crossed eyes. Those eyes are the eyes of fear. Those eyes are in deep water, deeper water than they’ve ever been in before. Now, tilt up, tilt up to those other eyes. See, those are the lookers, those are the eyes of a man that knows, he now he lives inside that other man’s head. And when you can make a man look like that at your hands, you live in his head for life. Roman, last week when you heard my music, the look on your face solidified what I already know, you know deep down that for whatever reason, no matter what the odds justifiably say, no matter what it says on paper, I am the guy who’s got your number. I’m gonna beat you, it’s just a matter of when. I’m inevitable. And I’m gonna be the Universal Champion.

Roman Reigns, Edge, and Jimmy Uso Segment

And to be real with you, I don’t need my cousin here tonight because I can handle you all by myself. Where you at? Seems to me that you’re not man enough to step right in the middle of this ring, face to face with Jimmy Uso.

Edge: He’s using you just like he uses your entire family. I mean, look at what he did to your brother. He beat the holy hell out of Jey until Jey acknowledged that he was the head of the table. I mean, you should know, you were there. And then once he’s done with Jey, he starts using you. And what happened to you, man? What happened to your backbone? What happened to nobody’s bitch? Now, you’re just another one of Roman’s bitches. And here’s what you don’t realize. Roman laid a perfect trap. But this isn’t a trap for me, it’s a trap for you.
