Triple H & Randy Orton Segment

Triple H: I gotta say, I still got it, listen to them. It’s been a long time since I’ve got to say this, but welcome to the ThunderDome, welcome to Monday Night Raw. It’s a really difficult time.

Randy Orton: Well, look who it is, the office decided to show up because Drew McIntyre couldn’t. You know, Hunter, I was suppose to have a pretty big match tonight.

Triple H: I am aware. And I know you are aware, that is not going to happen.

Randy Orton: Trust me, I’m aware. But seeing as you got all dressed up, you got all prettied up, you jumped on the plane, you flown down to Tampa, Florida, you’re here in the Thunderdome, I figure, you’re here to make an official ruling. So, what’s it gonna be? Are you gonna let the entire WWE Universe know that I am going to enter the ring last at the Royal Rumble or are you going to cut the BS and do what’s right for business and hand me the WWE Championship?

Triple H: You want me to hand it to you? All right, well, look, hey, I suggest Randy that if you want the WWE Championship, you win the Royal Rumble, however you have to.

Randy Orton: I don’t understand, you’re here in this ring. And since you’re here, hell, the only reason you could possibly be here is to say something, to make a call, anything, and make sure that it benefits me, so what is it?

Triple H: This is where we’re at now? You and I, all this time, cheap threats, you’re gonna stand here, look me in the eye, flex your jaw muscles, think I’m scared? Is that what you’re going to do? You know something, Randy, it’s been impressive watching you over the last year. I sat back, I watched you do a lot of things, I watched the old Randy Orton step back in the dance. And it’s been impressive, he’s been gone for awhile, and now here he is. And I sat back like everybody else and watched it take place, I was in awe. A lot of people criticized, a lot of people didn’t understand what you were doing, a lot of people thought you crossed lines, went too far, not me.

I sat there and I watched. I watched you contemplate that match, I watched you light it, I watched you look at it, and I watched it burn down like you did, knowing that everything you wanted was on the other side of that flame, that the last thing that stood in your way, The Fiend, the last thing that stood between you and that WWE Championship was laying there, and all you had to do was drop it, and you did. I gotta tell you, Randy, I don’t know if I was ever more proud of you than in that moment, boom, because I would’ve done the exact same thing, because it stood between you and what you wanted, what benefited you, like you said a minute one, what benefits you. During that period of time, though, there’s been a few things that since I got all dressed up and took the time to fly all the way down here to Tampa, I might as well address with you while I’m here, there’s a few things you’ve done I don’t understand.

I don’t understand you kicking legends in the head, like Big Show or threatening them or humiliating them in front of the world, like you did to Mark Henry, Shawn Michaels, Ric Flair. I don’t understand that, Randy. I don’t understand when it doesn’t benefit you, The Fiend laying there sizzling, yeah, you live by the sword, you die by sword, but Ric Flair is a legend, humiliating him, no benefit for you. What that did to me was take that pride away, it made me look at you differently, it solidified in my mind, Randy, that you are not a legend, that you are not everything that you think you are, it solidified in my mind that Randy Orton is nothing but a no good prick.

Randy Orton: You know, Hunter, you could call me what you want, but the fact remains, I am at my peak, I am in my prime, and I am a legend. I’m a legend in my own time, just like you were. As a matter of fact, what do you say, do you still got it in you? Is the Cerebral Assassin still in there? Is The Game still in there? Is The King Of Kings still in there, because if he is, maybe I take the legend of Triple H out, once and for good. But, to do that, I need you to accept a challenge. And I’ll make it easy, not a match, an old fashion fight. We’ve known each other for longer than two. What do you say, tonight, in this ring, you and I go toe to toe? Accept my challenge.

Triple H: You want to fight me?

Randy Orton: Yeah, I want to fight you.

Triple H: You’re smart enough to know, when someone wants you to do something, you don’t give them the satisfaction. There’s no benefit in it to me. The answer is no.

Randy Orton: Now, Hunter, wait a minute. You said there’s no benefit to you or was it just that Stephanie, your wife isn’t here tonight and you were unable to retrieve your balls from her purse?

HHH punches Randy Orton to close the segment.
