Johnny Gargano & Tommaso Ciampa In-Ring Segment:

This has been a pretty interesting past couple of weeks for Johnny Gargano. Not only has he shown the WWE Universe what NXT is all about as one of the newest members of Raw and SmackDown, but last Wednesday he had one of the toughest matches of his career against The Velveteen Dream. After winning the NXT North American Championship, Gargano said that Johnny Wrestling was back. He was back. He was on top of the world. When he had his first test, he failed. Gargano failed himself and he failed the entire NXT Universe. Gargano still feels like a champion, but the harsh reality is that he doesn’t have a championship.

Tommaso Ciampa comes out to interrupt Gargano. This about DIY. Over the last week and a half, we learned that Johnny Gargano is at his best with Tommaso Ciampa in his life. When we are together on Raw and SmackDown, we win. When we step into that ring together, the outcome is determined. We win. Ciampa wanted to help Gargano last week, but again Johnny Wrestling was being stubborn. It doesn’t have to be a bad thing. It took Gargano a year and a half to realize that they need each other. This is destiny. Ciampa is standing here holding the NXT Title while Gargano has nothing around his waist.

It doesn’t have to be that way. Last week, William Regal announced the return of the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic. Think about it Johnny. That’s where this all began. They have been through a lot together. The Dusty Classic is where this all started. This year, the winner of that tournament gets a tag title match at NXT TakeOver: New York. The big stage and bright lights, where they do their best work. That’s when they can have their moment. Takeover New York can end the same way as Takeover Phoenix, standing side by side champions.
