Truth TV With Special Guests: The McMahon Family
Welcome to the 1,000th episode of SmackDown Live. In all of the years that TruthTV has been on the air, there have been a lot of memorable history making moments, but none like tonight. There’s only been one episode and the show has been canceled. It’s time for a dance break. The Fabulous Truth is getting ready to introduce their first guest. Stephanie McMahon makes her way to the ring. Stephanie was the first ever General Manager of SmackDown and she had a vision. It’s so incredible to see that vision come to life on the 1000th episode of Smackdown.
Shane McMahon comes out to interrupt Stephanie. What’s up DC? The opening video package flooded his head with so many memories. This event wouldn’t have been possible without all of you. Shane panders to the crowd and they eat it up. Shane welcomes Stephanie to the A Show. Stephanie says that SmackDown is a show, but it’s the second longest episodic television show, behind Raw.
Raw is held to a higher standard. They wouldn’t kick off the show with the likes of TruthTV. They would want to start off a little bigger and bolder. Shane says they try to put things like TruthTV on and things that people want to see. Vince McMahon joins the conversation. The WWE Universe doesn’t want to see Shane and Stephanie bicker. They came for entertainment. Let’s have another dance break.

Evolution In-Ring Segment:
One thousand episodes. How do you accomplish something that monumental? You accomplish it by evolving constantly. How do you celebrate something so monumental? You bring together the one group that epitomizes Evolution. This is a lifetime for The Nature Boy to be out here with that group. Flair is more used to that 10,000 number. Orton says that walking down that aisle and listening to that music brings back memories. What better way to get a start in this business than with this group? Orton has been evolving. While Triple H has been running the show, Flair living vicariously through his daughter, Batista spending more time in a make up chair than the ring, Orton has been winning championships.
Batista is a little nervous being back in this ring. It’s been a long time. Batista is going to enjoy every second of it and ignore what Orton said. You know the last place he wants to be is with this microphone in his hand. Batista has four things he wants to say. First, he wanted to be here tonight because it is Smackdown 1000. Batista is proud to have built this brand. Second, this is his home town. He bounced at a nightclub two blocks away for thirteen years. He saw more violence than anyone needs to see. He’s speaking to all of you and it’s a dream come true. Third, it is because of all of you. Whether you booed him or called him Bluetista or BooTista. Whether you loved him or hated him, he came out and busted his ass and loved all of you. He didn’t care if he won or lost, he wanted to entertain you.
Fourth, is the guys in the ring with him. Do you realize how special this is? Do you realize how the molecules changed in the room when they walked into this building? When that music plays, it’s a different vibe. Four champions brought together to build an army. It has never been done before and will never be done again. Randy Orton, 13-time champion. Batista knew that Orton was special the first time he saw him in OVW. Flair, Hunter, and everyone else knew he was special. Ric Flair, the 16-time World Champion. There’s nothing he can tell you about Flair that you don’t already know. Batista makes a joke about Flair keeping things in his pants. Triple H, 14-time World Champion. This man has single handedly changed this business. He is this business. Triple H never defeated Batista. This leads to a standoff in the center of the ring.
Second Match: Rusev w/Lana vs. The Miz in a WWE World Cup Qualifying Match

The Cutting Edge With Special Guests: Becky Lynch & Charlotte Flair
It doesn’t get more huge than Smackdown 1000. Edge had to be here. SmackDown has always felt like his show. Some of his greatest accomplishments happened here. He cashed in against the Undertaker. He competed in a No DQ match against Eddie Guerrero that people talk to him about today. He married Vickie Guerrero. He divorced Vickie Guerrero. Needless to say, this show really means something to him. The last few weeks, he has been watching and had to come here to address it. Tonight, the Rated R Superstar is going to try to be SmackDown’s Moral Compass. Edge brings out his first guest tonight, the SmackDown Women’s Champion Becky Lynch.
Edge and Becky have a lot in common. He understands what Becky is thinking. He wasn’t supposed to be in the main event and he wasn’t supposed to be on the posters. He had to fight for everything he got in this company, just like you. Becky thinks she’s doing the right thing by throwing away her friendship with Charlotte, but she didn’t make the right choice. Edge made those same choices. If there was a friendship or relationship that got between him and the top, he crushed it. He left a trail of burnt bridges. You can win all of the championships you want. You can be on all of the posters you want. The choices you are making change who you are. They will stain your soul.
There’s some good left in Becky. The end result is with you sitting in your home staring at the championships on your wall reminiscing about all of your accomplishments by yourself. You won’t even like yourself. Becky does not like herself, she loves herself. Becky tells Edge to stop being condescending and get out of her ring. Hopefully he doesn’t hurt his neck going through the ropes. Charlotte Flair makes her way to the ring. Why did Becky have to go there? All Becky cares about is that championship. That’s why she ran at Super Show Down. Charlotte put Becky through the LED Board. Becky is gonna love what Charlotte does to her right now. Pier six brawl in the center of the ring.
