Daniel Bryan & Drake Maverick In-Ring Segment: 

Ladies and Gentlemen, in the summer of 2016, Bryan was proud to be part of something that was near and dear to his heart, The WWE CruiserWeight Classic. That is why Bryan is privileged to introduce you, the WWE Universe to a man who’s going to usher in a new era on 205 Live.

Under his leadership, he’ll give us the action that the entire WWE Universe wants. So please allow Bryan to introduce to you, the new general manager of 205 Live, Drake Maverick. Maverick has dedicated his entire to career to arriving to the WWE. Maverick thanks Bryan for the opportunity.

He’s going to help 205 Live. We need ourself a new CruiserWeight Champion, don’t we? There will be a 16-Man Single Elimination Tournament that will culminate at WrestleMania 34. Oh don’t worry, the tournament begins tonight with two first round matches in the Vacated WWE CruiserWeight Championship Tournament. 

First Match: Cedric Alexander vs. Gran Metalik in a First Round Match In The Vacated WWE CruiserWeight Championship Tournament 

Alexander and Metalik shakes hands before the bell rings. Collar and Elbow Tie Up. Metalik with a waist lock go-behind to Alexander. Metalik applies a wrist lock. Alexander responds with a side headlock. Alexander leapfrogs over Metalik. Alexander delivers a Leg Scissors TakeOver. Metalik is trying to catch Alexander off guard with his speed and athleticism. Metalik goes for a Hurricanrana, but Alexander lands back on his feet. Metalik with an arm-drag takedown to Alexander. Metalik applies an arm-bar.

Alexander kicks Metalik in the gut. Metalik decks Alexander with an enzuigiri. Metalik connects with a SpringBoard Missile Dropkick. Alexander responds with a SpringBoard Clothesline. Alexander follows that with a SomerSault Plancha. Alexander rolls Metalik back into the ring. Alexander with the cover for a two count. Alexander applies a Straight Jacket Hold. Alexander drives Metalik head to the canvas. Metalik regains momentum with a SunsetFlip PowerBomb.

Alexander levels Metalik with a HandSpring RoundHouse Kick for a two count. Metalik SuperKicks Alexander. Metalik follows that with a Reverse SlingBlade. Metalik lands another Missile Dropkick. Metalik takes out Alexander with a SlingShot Plancha. Metalik rolls Alexander back into the ring. Metalik with a SpringBoard Splash for a two count. Alexander uppercuts Metalik. Metalik responds with a SuperKick.

Alexander connects with a Standing Spanish Fly for a two count. Metalik with an Over Hand Palm Strike to Alexander. Metalik has Alexander perched on the top turnbuckle. Metalik with a SpringBoard FrankenSteiner for a two count. Alexander blocks the HandSpring BullDog. Alexander goes for the Lumbar Check, but Metalik counters with a Spinning DDT. Metalik drags Alexander to the corner. Metalik goes for a MoonSault, but Alexander ducks out of the way. Alexander plants Metalik with The Lumbar Check to pickup the victory.

Drake Maverick & TJ Perkins Backstage Segment: 

Second Match: TJ Perkins vs. Tyler Bate in a First Round Match in the Vacated WWE CruiserWeight Championship Tournament 

Collar and Elbow Tie Up. Perkins backs Bate into the ropes. Referee Charles Robinson forces the clean break. Bate applies a top wrist lock. Perkins reverses the hold. Perkins with a Spinning Leg Scissors TakeOver for a two count. Perkins dabs in the center of the ring. Bate with a HeadScissors Leg Lock to Perkins. Bate shoots Perkins into the ropes. Perkins slides under Bate. Perkins rolls Bate over for a one count. Perkins gets Bate trapped in a SurfBoard Submission Hold.

Bate turns Perkins over. Bate with the cover for a two count. Bate drops Perkins with a shoulder tackle. Bate dropkicks Perkins. Perkins is trying to regain his composure on the outside. Bate lands a Suicide Dive. Bate rolls Perkins back into the ring. Bate rams his shoulders into the midsection of Perkins. Bate goes for a SunsetFlip, but Perkins is holding onto the middle rope. Perkins targets the left knee of Bate.

Perkins is choking Bate with his boot. Perkins with a Snap Vertical Suplex to Bate. Perkins follows that with a Belly to Back Suplex for a two count. Perkins applies a Single Leg Boston Crab on the middle rope. Perkins bodyslams Bate. Perkins continues the sequence with a SlingShot Senton for a two count. Perkins steps on Bate’s knee. Bate decks Perkins with a knee lift. Bate uppercuts Perkins. Bate levels Perkins with a Big Boot. Bate lands a Flying Knee Strike off the second rope.

Bate connects with a German Suplex for a two count. Bate goes for The Tyler Driver #97, but Perkins blocks it. Perkins kicks Bate in the hamstring. Bate negates The Detonation Kick. Bate with an Exploder Suplex. Bate with a Standing Shooting Star Press for a two count. Bate and Perkins are trading back and forth shots. Perkins regains momentum with a Basement Dropkick.

Bate goes for a HandSpring Lariat, but Perkins counters with a Knee Bar. Bate crawls to the bottom rope to create separation. Following a standing switch exchange, Bate levels Perkins with an Inside Out Lariat for a two count. Bate delivers The Airplane Spin. Perkins goes for another Knee Bar, but Bate counters with a victory roll for a two count.

Bate clocks Perkins with Bop and Bang. Bate goes for a Spinning CorkScrew Splash, but Perkins ducks out of the way. Perkins gets Bate trapped in the Knee Bar. Bate desperately reaches the bottom rope. Bate uppercuts Perkins. Bate follows that with a Rolling Kick. Bate has Perkins in position for the Tyler Driver #97. Perkins rolls Bate over with a hand full of tights to pickup the victory.

Winner: TJ Perkins via Pinfall
