POST MATCH COMMENTS

Chase Owens: Damn it. That’s not the way I wanted to recover. Korakuen Hall, Yota Tsuji, you beat me. And I did not want to lose two in a row, but Shota, I’ll give it to you. Shota, you’re one tough son of a bitch, but don’t think that next time that that’s going to be the same result. You’re lucky I got a bum knee. You’re lucky I’m not 100%. 2-3, 4 Points, that’s okay. Narita, Sanada, you know what? If I can’t beat Narita, there’s only one thing left to do and that’s beat Sanada and earn an IWGP Title Shot. So, who cares. August 5th, Osaka, Sanada, you are who I’m looking forward to.

Shota Umino: Second win. I’m clawing my way back. Kiyomiya did some damage to my knee. My neck and shoulders are hurting because of Gabe. I’m banged up, but that’s not gonna stop me. I’ll sacrifice my whole damn body for this. I am taking that G1 Climax Championship. Whether I have to give up an arm, leg, or my neck, winning the G1 Climax is my dream. And after that, Sanada, The IWGP World Heavyweight Champion. I lost to him in our league match. I’m coming for my revenge. And who’s next? LIJ’s big mouth. I’m coming for you.

Yoshi Hashi: For me, fighting Taichi today, we had both been walking down a path that seemed to have no light at the end of the tunnel. It’s amazing to think that we both came today with championship belts around our waists. Something that I couldn’t have even imagined. He, as the KOPW Champion, and me, an IWGP Tag Team Champion. I think the both of us are still yet to reach what we’re truly capable of. We’ve got more to give. It’s only just begun. We may be late bloomers, but it all starts from here. I lost today, and of course, I’m frustrated. But I was damn proud of Taichi today. Knowing how far we’ve both come, it fired me up even more. We both took some time to get there. Taichi left Suzuki Gun and joined a new unit. He’s shining more than ever. But my G1 Climax isn’t over yet. Today was a really tough loss to swallow. But I’m not giving up. Next up is O-Khan. I’m beating him. That’s all there is to it.

Taichi: Before this league started, besides Okada and Ospreay, the rest seemed those like bum low ranked sumos. But if you’re in the G1, you gotta be damn good. Even the lower ranked guys are strong. There’s not an easy match in the bunch. And the B Block is the strongest of them all. There’s not a single wrestler who isn’t good enough to be here. It’s stiff competition. I stacked up a third win. I’m still alive in this thing. You never know what might happen in the other matches. One more? Two more left? If I keep showing what I did today, the results in my league matches, and on my YouTube, are definitely gonna follow. I’m gonna summon that sumo spirit. Thank you very much.

Kaito Kiyomiya: Damn it. What the hell is this trash? Is that what you’re about? You’ll pay for this.

Gabriel Kidd: Who’s next? Sanada? Tsuji? I don’t give a fuck who’s next. Kaito Kiyomiya, this isn’t over yet, bitch. You’re fucking dead.

Tanga Loa: O-Khan. Good Khan, I don’t know. Great? Maybe Okada, but Khan good. Just Khan, but thank you for tonight. I told you and our fans I needed to switch it up. I was on a losing streak, so I got a haircut and I kept my shirt on. And I got the dub, so we’re doing it my way from now on so I can keep getting these wins.

Yota Tsuji: It’s no one’s fault but my own. I lost three matches in the G1 Climax. I’ve fumbled the ball in the A Block and for this G1 Climax. If I’d picked up more wins by this point, I know I could’ve made this G1 Climax more interesting. Don’t you agree? Aren’t I correct? Tell me, can I still make the finals? Tell me I can. I can, right? One win, three losses, one draw. Hey, tell me, can I win without relying on other results. Or do I need to rely on spoilers? But I’m still not done. I’ve still got a chance. Don’t tell me I have no chance. I’ve still got a path to the finals. Damn right.

Hikuleo: Damn, that boy is good. All the talk about him is real. He’s the real deal. But I knew that since our dojo days, since our roommate days. I knew what was coming since the first time I met him. Damn, he’s good. I got away with that one, but damn, Tsuji is good. 4 points, two wins, I’ll enjoy now. Got a couple days off, but I’ll enjoy this tonight and maybe tomorrow. But I gotta keep going. Kaito, NOAH Champion, I gotta prepare for him. Celebrate a little bit, but keep moving forward.

KENTA: That wasn’t a three count. What the hell is up with that referee? Seriously. Come on, I kicked out, Fatty. Do you know that bastard? You’re not related to him, are you, Fatty? He’s gotta be one of your family. What is he, your cousin or something? Seriously, at least a second cousin. What the hell, man? I kicked out. Damn it. What’s this ELP crap? Back in my day, it was all about ELT, the pop duo. This is all your fault, Fatty. Every damn time you come, it’s a win followed by a loss. Seriously, man. How could you? What’s the matter with you? Really. And I’ve got Okada next. Wait a minute. Loss, win, loss, win, loss, that means next is a win. I’m winning.

You better come, Fatty. We’ll beat Okada together. Won’t we? Come on. Seriously, that ELP. Do you remember what he gave me for my birthday here backstage? Of course you don’t. I was making my comment, and he gave me a freakin protein shake in front of everyone. Like I need that. Seriously. The people messed with me. They clapped their hands in a weird way, too. I’ve always resented that. Come on, man. And today, I lose to him? I can’t believe it. I can’t believe it, seriously. But next time, I’m beating Okada, so you damn well better be here. Damn, I’m actually seriously ticked off. I gotta keep my cool. Anyway, what I came here today to say was, if I think about it with a cool head, maybe it actually was a three count.

El Phantasmo: You know, by now I didn’t have the best start from the G1 Climax 33. But it’s pretty fucking obvious now that fighting spirit, that has been buried deep down, locked away for a long time. It’s starting to emerge. Kenta, I have waited a long fucking time for that. And if you think a little hard way goose-egg is gonna keep me down, you’re wrong. Two wins, two more to go, and a lot of praying to upstairs. And you have LP advancing into the quarter finals of the G1 Climax. I don’t know if you guys heard that, but everybody in Ota heard those three letters. Being chanted louder than anything else. Oh, god, from the bottom of my heart, thank you, thank you for keeping me going. Now, one more thing, Chris Samsa, I want stats on the fastest G1 Climax wins. I don’t know, maybe 10, 15 seconds, maybe a new record. Oh, god, that would be good. Samsa, you better tweet me one of those stats. Who’s next? Taichi. Fuck yeah, I like you, Taichi. I respect you, Taichi. Please bring on that fighting spirit even more.

Ren Narita: Loss after loss after loss, I can’t take another one.

SANADA: I’ve faced all of the Reiwa Three Musketeers in this G1. Their each unique in their own ways. I know the future of NJPW is in good hands. But that future is still a long way off. And I am the present. This is Sanada’s year. Hey, I might even be the future, too. I’ve wrestled the Reiwa Three Musketeers, and it might not be my place to say, but Kiyomiya is a level above them right now. As for the others, hone your craft, then come at me again when you’re ready.

Kazuchika Okada: Well, losing to Ospreay today is nothing to be ashamed of. But it still burns me up. Even though we fight on different teams, we’re still like brothers, in some ways. Nothing’s worse than losing to your little bro. Well, I’ve known for years just how strong Ospreay really is. Unfortunately, that’s it for our meeting in the G1 blocks. Ospreay, see you in the finals.

Will Ospreay: Do you got my celebration donuts? Thank you so much. I fucking love Krispy Kreme. I’m saving these, I bought them yesterday. And I said to Jeff, I’m gonna eat some donuts after I beat Okada. I love Jeff to bits. Jeff gave me one piece of advice for this match, and he said, just try to go less than 20 minutes. And it wasn’t that Jeff didn’t have any confidence in me, it was just, beating Okada in 20 minutes is nearly impossible. It’s the hardest thing to do in the world. I’ve never been out to beat him on my own. But after beating Kenny Omega for the IWGP United States Championship, I knew I could do it. I knew in here I could do it. I really need to thank everybody in that building tonight. Ota, you were my second, all of you guys supported and believed in me.

And I do get sad about this shit, bruv, because I do look back at that night that I finally turned on Okada and formed The United Empire. There’s parts of me that doubted because along the journey, like, there had been moments where every time I’ve stepped to Okada, I have failed. The one time I beat him, I needed help. So there’s parts of me that annoys. Maybe I should have just said, I needed to do my own thing. Maybe I didn’t need to stab him in the back. Maybe, but I don’t know if I’ll be the man I am today if I didn’t do what I needed to do. I’m not apologizing and I think we’re nowhere near ever going to be brothers again. But to stand opposite you, really is an honor. But it’s my time now. I keep talking pot shots because everyone keeps going there’s a new era in New Japan Pro Wrestling and they keep pointing at Sanada and The Three Musketeers. They’re not pointing their finger at the guy that’s whooped all of them. None of those three have beaten Will Ospreay.

Not that champion, your world champion has not pinned Will Ospreay. And that’s fine, I will get my shot at Wrestle Kingdom, Sanada. Please read these comments and read the stupid translation underneath, I will see you at Wrestle Kingdom because it’s the right thing to do. It’s the right guy, the right time. New Japan should put all their stock in The United Empire, and damn sure, you put all your stock in Will Ospreay because I will get New Japan back into the golden ages. Do not put your faith into three children that can never carry the weight that I can carry. It’s still a long way to go. Long, long way to go, but this is me telling you now. Buy your tickets to Ryogkoku. G1 Semi-Final and Finals. Because Will Ospreay will take the gold. Will Ospreay takes the trophy. The G1, the G stands for Goat. And a big shoutout to my beautiful Ms L and and my little boy, Harry, I love you guys, I’ll be home soon.
