POST MATCH COMMENTS
Eddie Kingston: It happens. You win some, you lose some. But the way I live my life, you never lose if you learn. He’ll learn from this. We all will learn from this. That’s what pro wrestling is about. It’s about learning and moving on. You will learn.
Kaito Kiyomiya: I’m telling you, this Oiwa kid is good. We couldn’t get the win today either, but I admire how much fight he’s got. He’s really going for it. Good stuff. Thanks a lot. It was my first time in the ring with Mikey Nicholls, but it did feel nostalgic in a sense. That’s about it.
Mikey Nicholls: I’m gonna say, you don’t know where you’re going until you know where you’ve been. That green, that’s where I’ve been. Kiyomiya, I was raised through NOAH, so I know what you’re going through. But that was then, New Japan, TMDK runs this place. So once a young boy to me, you will always be a young boy, kid.
Hikuleo: Please, Shota, kill Gabriel Kidd.
Shota Umino: I’ve said this before, but do you remember? The New Japan Cup third round, right here. I lost here in Hamamatsu to David Finlay. I haven’t forgotten, Finlay. Wherever or whenever it is, I’ll get my revenge. So what? You’re the winner of C Block? Like I give a damn. I’m gonna destroy you. I’ll get you back for what you did to me.
Master Wato: So that’s how Bullet Club does things? All you’re gonna do is make us mad.
Gabriel Kidd: What you are looking at here is the winner of this year’s G1 Climax. This is the strongest leader the Bullet Club has ever had. I don’t give a shit. I get too gassed up.
David Finlay: Listen, I said when I formed The War Dogs, you bring me bodies and you bring me gold. War Dogs, every single member, fully strapped. This man, right here, brought me bodies this G1 like his life depended on it. You understand, I said Bullet Club is a weapon, tell me who is more of a weapon than Gabe Kidd? This man is ready for war, at all times. But you know who isn’t? Will Ospreay. Where is Will Ospreay, today? He’s at home, hiding, ducking me, playing it safe. Will, that’s okay. Tomorrow, baby, I’ve got your number. Tomorrow, you find out why I dominated my way through the C Block. And you will find out, first hand, why I am the king of murderer’s row, why I am the baddest man in this company and why I am the greatest Bullet Club leader of all-time. This G1 Climax has my name written all over it.
Tomohiro Ishii: You all saw it. I got my ass beat all G1 Climax long. Pathetic. Judge a man by his actions, not his words. I didn’t come to make a fool of myself. I came to make an impact, now look at me. Pitiful. All I have is pain. But I’ll stand up, dust myself off and keep walking down the road. Look within myself, why I didn’t win? What was I missing? Tomohiro Ishii isn’t done yet.
Tomoaki Honma: These other guys have had amazing matches and gotten beat up all G1 long. And here I am, well rested as ever and I still lose. Is this all I’m good for? I’m completely crushed. I swear I’ll make it into the next G1 Climax. I’m not giving up hope.
Aaron Henare: You fans, you can’t see it yet, but my skin underneath is fully tattooed, all on my face, all on my head. And, Honma, I think you haven’t been watching the G1, because everybody that tries to impact me, hit me with their head, knock me out with a headbutt, and they never do well. I’ve noticed today, everybody’s given up, no more block matches, so we could take it easy. No, no. But the reason why The United Empire is the greatest, it’s because we keep fighting till the bitter end. Even if we’re eliminated, we keep on fighting. One guy left, Will Ospreay. Bring it back for The Empire.
Shingo Takagi: Yesterday, my G1 Climax came to an end. It’s finished. I couldn’t even think of what to say yesterday, but whatever I say doesn’t matter. A loss is a loss. I have to take responsibility. But just one thing. The boos were deafening in Yokohama. Is that what the G1 Climax has become, Okamoto? Well, I lost. Anything I say will sound like an excuse. I’m gonna get EVIL back for this. I don’t know where. I’d love for it to be in Yokohama, but I just don’t know when or where yet. I don’t know if it’s possible, but I’ll even do it under rules where they can use their dirty tricks. My G1 Climax may be over. But I’m not gonna let my summer ends like this. At the end of the month, I’ll be going to London for a singles match with Will Ospreay. Whether the title is on the line or not, I’m not sure. Shingo Takagi’s G1 has come to an end. But this hot summer ain’t done yet.
Ren Narita: Two draws in this G1 Climax. Shota and Tsuji. They may be trying to play it cool, but I’m coming for both of them.
Minoru Suzuki: Punched in the face, kicked to all hell, torn apart with submissions. Stand up and smash the hell out of whoever is in front of you. That’s STRONG STYLE.
Alex Coughlin: I told you, it takes more to kill me than that. It takes more than a trick or there’s some jokes, more than a couple of chairs to keep me down. Now, you see, you cut me open. I don’t bleed like the rest of you. I am more than human. Much, much, more. And I’m gonna keep proving it until everybody in the world understands that it’s time for the dead I dread. It’s time for The War Dogs. I’d like to see you do something about it.
Shane Haste: See ya, Jeff, idiot. Jeff, you thought I had to pin you, submit you. I didn’t have to beat you. You said it yourself, you had more to lose than I did, and guess what? You lost it and up next is my mate, Zack Sabre Jr. And Zack doesn’t lose things, man, he gonna beat Goto because that is a champion of the singles capacity. Goto, I had my eyes on you, too. I’ll take the pickings, but you, you’re not there with your tag partner. You’re out there alone. Yoshi Hashi is not even in the building, brother. By any means necessary, ah, you get it. You try to drop me on my head, trying to beat me, but I won. I’m the winner. I’ll take two points for that. In fact, I’m gonna take a point and a half. Officially put me down for a point and a half for that one because a that was a team win. Now, let’s go back to the zip line.
Hirooki Goto: This is a tough pill to swallow. There are so many people struggling out in the world, illness and hardships. I wanted to show them that you can achieve all of your hopes and dreams, and I failed. That’s what really hurts.
Zack Sabre Jr: Shane Haste, you beautiful bastard. That’s TMDK, right there. That’s TMDK teamwork. Shane might have been out of the tournament, but he stood for his own pride. Could have been set on beating Jeff Cobb because he’s bloody beautiful. He sacrificed that thing out, so I can get through. Cheers mate, I owe you a kiss and a cuddling. Seven years, seven years to get out of the block stage. I’ve won tournaments all over the world. And for some reason I couldn’t get out of the bloody block stage. Until now, until now. You listen, this company’s desperate, desperate for The Reiwa Three Musketeers to be the new faces of the company. Well, guess what? They couldn’t make it. Who else is through? The Assasin, Billy No Brains. I’ll tell you what, mate, you’re not gonna be the first British G1 Winner, Zack Sabre Jr is. Who else we got? Giant Gonzalez, Hikuleo. Old toolbox, nothing inside.
But one of these idiots (Tetsuya Naito & Hiroshi Tanahashi) is joining us. How many more chances? The Musketeers, you’re talking about changing the guard, behave. What New Japan needs has been staring them in the face for seven years. I turned down contracts with all the major american companies. I’ve dedicated my whole adult life to Japanese Wrestling. You want to talk about dedication, who this company should get behind? I’m not even on the fucking posters for this tour. That changes when I win it, right now. Right now, I’m reminding every single one of you why I’m one of the best wrestlers in the world. And when I win the G1 Climax, I’ll prove that I am the best wrestler in the world.
Hiroshi Tanahashi: Damn. There’s nothing left for me. I’ve got nothing. 5 straight years of G1 failures. I can’t just say, there’s always next year, I’ll have to win it by will. I’ll go around the world, collect belts, walk into the next G1 with a champion’s pride, you bastard.
Tetsuya Naito: With that, I finished D Block in first. The knockout round begins tomorrow in Funabashi. With this much damage, it’s gonna be tough. But I’ll take each match as they come, with LIJ pride, right here. Tomorrow I face Hikuleo. That’s a first, isn’t it? Exciting. I’ll see you all tomorrow in Funabashi City. Adios!
