POST MATCH COMMENTS

Ryohei Oiwa: Damn it. Pro Wrestling NOAH’s Kaito Kiyomiya, New Japan Pro Wrestling’s SANADA, I was given the opportunity to step into the ring with the two top wrestlers of their promotions. It’s not often you get a chance like this, and yet, damn it. I’m gonna get stronger. I’ll forge my own path. I believe in the path I’ve chosen. I swear I’ll make it to the top.

Kaito Kiyomiya: For what’s left of these G1 Climax dates, I’m gonna make an opportunity for myself.

Douki: Of course, he’s the champ. Maybe it’s obvious, but a champion who wins all of his league matches is a badass, for sure. And Kiyomiya, either way you look at it, is a top guy here in Japan. You know, watching that Kiyomiya vs. Narita match yesterday, I got pretty fired up myself. I only got a little bit of Kiyomiya today, but it was great stepping into the ring with him. Anyway, I got something to say today. I got my ass kicked yesterday, so I wasn’t in the mood to talk. The card for All Star Jr. Festival USA has been announced. A three way tag team ladder match, but even more importantly, my partner, Low Rider, you guys heard of him? He’s a good friend of mine, and a hell of a pro wrestler, too. More to come.

SANADA: Kiyomiya, let’s do it again sometime. But not just for the sake of it. When there’s something we need to prove to each other, a story to tell one another. Oiwa is a hell of a talent. He’s got fight, a lot of power, and he’s good looking, to boot. Oiwa looks like a potential future ace, too. I’m looking forward to seeing what he does. But right now, it’s SANADA’s time. Hell, I’m the future, too. I’m coming for that G1 Championship.

Kosei Fujita: No tricks or sneaky rollups. Just a straight up trouncing by Hiroshi Tanahashi. But I’ve been trounced many times before. I will make up for this somehow. I’m itching for this overseas trip next. At some point, I will absolutely be good enough to surpass that man.

Mikey Nicholls: See what I said to you guys the other day. I said sit around, hangout in Tokyo, drink a few beers and watch us on New Japan World because it’s me and my man here. Try to learn something from me. Learn something from this old dog. And did you see my man out there? That’s a straight up murder right there. As for me, it was an honor to be in the G1, don’t get me wrong, but my G1 is finished. My G1 is done. I have one more match and you best believe I’m going down swinging. Ishii, you want to get in my face, I’ll get right back in your face. See you in the G1 match on August 8th.

Tomohiro Ishii: Nice elbow after the match, Mikey. Try doing it before the match is over next time. TMDK, Mikey Nicholls, I’m gonna enjoy this. Time for you step up to Tomohiro Ishii.

Hiroshi Tanahashi: My match against Naito is just one of many matches in this D Block. But it may prove a pivotal match for the future of Hiroshi Tanahashi. It’s hard to say yet. It’s gonna be tough to get into the knockout tournament from the D Block. And I’m not gonna let Naito, of all people, get through that easy. Sorry Naito fans, but I’m gonna keep this G1 Climax interesting til the very end.

Tama Tonga: In two days, Henare and I, we’re gonna go one on one, all right. What a legend, huh? To have that fighting energy, for this long, that’s the kind of energy I want. To never give up. As long as there’s a breath in me, I will never give up. And, Henare, I don’t care what kind of new found power you’ve got now. I don’t care what kind of new tattoos you got on your face. It don’t change for me, one bit. I am going to fight you to the very end. And I’ll never, you won’t ever see me tap. Hell to the no. Henare, you and I, the last time we met one on one was the New Japan Cup and you barely fucking got me. But you didn’t. I’m gonna make sure that you don’t have that again.

Aaron Henare: Oh, Tama. Before I came to this company, you’re the one that sat down, took me to dinner, and told me to come here. But ever since I’ve been here, there’s been nothing but animosity from you. I don’t know if it’s because you grew up in America, but I don’t know, that animosity is misplaced. And all it tells me is, you’re insecure. I’m not taking away what you’re doing now. Tama Tonga, you are at the peak of you career. Destroying everyone. You pinned the biggest threat in this G1. But I’m not scared of you and I never have been. And you want me to tell all of these people why you hate me. Why you hate these tattoos. Shall I educate them? Two thousand years ago, The Tongan Empire reign supreme over all the pacific islands. Kicked you all back to your Tongan Islands.

Tails tucked between your legs and you hold that animosity all the way into 2023. And I felt it in the New Japan Cup. Yes, I give you one, you pinned me clean. I didn’t tap you out. You didn’t tap. You didn’t give up and you beat me. Congratulations. But i’m still 10 years younger than you. I’ve still been in this company half the time you’ve been here. But I’m achieving more than you did in the same time. Those fans at the start of the match. He’s in Hontai, right? He’s a Hontai member? Then why were they all cheering for the face of fury, Henare? Let that tell you something. Right now, I live in Kanagawa. Yokohama match, my hometown match, brother.

Jeff Cobb: Okay. All right, maybe I lied. One more day of having fun. See, tonight, Tenzan. It’s okay, it’s fun again. Just to get the blood flowing, the juice is rolling. Keep me in the groove because, Shane Haste, you’re just off chilling in Tokyo, probably going to Disney Sea. Maybe eating at Lawson’s, drinking some sapporo’s. You see, Shane, in a few days time, I will take you on a tour like you’ve never been because you my friend are standing in front of me and destiny. Me and Destiny. Shane, if you watch what happened tonight, and you watch happens in a few days in Yokohama, the path of redemption is coming soon my friend.

David Finlay: What did I tell you guys about getting me a chair? I’m sick and tired of looking all over the arena, trying to find a chair to sit down. Gedo, if you could hold this for me. Thank you very much, Gedo. Eddie, Eddie, Eddie, you, my friend, are the last piece of evidence that I need to finally silence all of these idiotic doubters. You see, I beat you and I automatically win the C Block. That makes me the king of murderer’s row. And that puts me in a pretty good spot to win this G1. However, Eddie, the reason why I want to beat you, honestly, if we’re being truthful has absolutely nothing to do with the G1. No, you want to know why I want to kick your ass so bad, Eddie. Because you beat the last Bullet Club leader. You whooped his ass and you sent him packing. But you see, that’s something that I thought about doing for a very long time.

See, it was my dream to whoop Jay White’s ass and send him packing. And, Eddie, you took my dream from me, you understand? So you may have beaten the last Bullet Club leader, but I am the leader now, Eddie and I am a completely different animal. There is nobody more ruthless than me on this roster. There is nobody meaner than me on this roster. There is absolutely nobody more violent than I am. So when I drag your ass into the deep water, and I watch you struggle and drown, then everyone will know that I am factually, statistically, officially undisputed, the greatest Bullet Club leader of all-time. So when I send you back to AEW, with your tail tucked between your legs, Eddie, I want you and Jay to speak my name in reverence. Just like all these idiots will after I win the G1.

Eddie Kingston: Number one, Makabe, thank you very much for teaming up with me. It was an honor. Even though we lost and I apologize, I should’ve been there for you, that’s gonna bother me. But I get to make that up very soon. Finlay, my man, keep celebrating, keep feeding your ego, because I can’t wait to crush it. You think you’re the rebel. You think you’re the boss, dog. I’ve seen a million like you, you’re gonna have to prove to me, you are. I beat Jay White, what makes you think I can’t beat you? I’ll see you soon.

EVIL: Takagi, keep running your mouth about shaving my head. If you think buzzcuts are that cool, whether I win or lose, I’ll shave your damn head. You rotten, weak-ass LIJ bastard. Once you lose and get your head shaved, you’re done. Back to being a young one. Remember that.

Shingo Takagi: Hey EVIL, what the hell is this Mr. G1 business, you bastard? You’re the one disgracing the name of this great event. But no, not just you, Togo, SHO, Yujiro, all of The House Of Torture. All of you are burning down the value of this league just by being on the card. You said you were gonna put your hair on the line. What’s the deal with the clippers, EVIL? If that’s what you want, I’ll just say it. New Japan Pro Wrestling, this has nothing to do with the G1 league matches, but get the sharpest clippers you can find ready. Because after I knock out EVIL the hell out, I’m gonna shave his head. Just a way to make these prelims a bit more interesting for us.

Hey, Okamoto. I don’t know how Tama’s result affects it, but if one of Finlay or Eddie wins, they finish first. If I beat EVIL and finish second, who’s my next opponent? The winner of the A Block, SANADA. That’s right. I said in Tokyo Sports that if I fought SANADA, it’d be an IWGP Heavyweight Title match. But now’s not the time to think about that. Of course, I’ll fight him. It’s in Funabashi, right? I’m gonna get my first singles match with SANADA. And to do that, EVIL, I’m gonna knock you the hell out and shave your head. Yokohama, August 8th. The lucky number 8. This Rampage Dragon is gonna run wild.

Yota Tsuji: As you know, my G1 Climax has ended. Okamoto, are my teeth still in? Great. Well, I’ve still got my teeth, so that’s something. But as for the future, I’m not sure what it holds. This is no time to be complacent. I can’t afford to do that. Anyway, the teeth are fine. During this G1 Climax, Ospreay asked something, how was it when you went to England? Honestly, I was pretty glad to move on from England to CMLL in Mexico. Ospreay, I know you’re on your game in England. I know that you’re the top guy. And over there, the only one who didn’t want to become like you was Yota Tsuji. Probably doesn’t feel good to hear that, but that’s the way it is. Talk all you want.

Tetsuya Naito: Bushi joined this tour yesterday. And Yota, unfortunately, was eliminated from the G1 Climax here in Osaka yesterday. And next, we’ve got Takagi fighting EVIL in Yokohama. They’re all full of energy. They’re raring to go. Seeing those guys like that, it really fires me up, too. It makes me wanna fight even harder. That’s why LIJ can continue working together so well. Having this close bond where we can push each other is great. Of course, in Yokohama, I’ve got my eye on the Takagi match too. But it’s been a while since I’ve wrestled Tanahashi in a tag match. A taster for our league match on Wednesday in Hamamatsu. How much does the Tanahashi of 2023 have left in the tank? Is he just the same as the Tanahashi of old? Or is he merely a shadow of his former self? I’m gonna keep watch and find out for myself when we tie up. I’ve said it before, I’m really looking forward to this league match with Tanahashi. Don’t let me down, Tanahashi. Cabron.

Yoshi Hashi: I really wanted to end this league with a win. It really is a different feeling ending on a loss compared to a win. Well, he used my staff and all sorts of tricks, but he won in the end, so he was better today. I really believe that. But today’s lost, too, will guide me into the future. I’m not gonna let him get away with a win like that. I’ll get him back for this. My league matches in the G1 Climax end today. But I’m still an IWGP Tag Champion. I wanted to show that I can hang in singles matches, too. The results didn’t go my way, but what do the fans think? I wanted to show the strength of an IWGP Tag Champion. My G1 Climax is over. But I’m still a champion. I believe that we can make these belts shine brighter than ever. I’m frustrated, but this isn’t the end. There’s still a lot more to come. My journey isn’t done just yet.

KENTA: No, we’re not doing the heart thing. Those damn long nails. No, let’s not do the heart thing. I won. Clean as a sheet, all by myself. The losses, all your fault. But today’s win? All me, man. Let me sit for a second. Did you see that ugly bastard’s comments yesterday? Seriously. Wait before that, was there something wrong with my comments YouTube video? It sounded like I was in space. My voice was on a delay. Right? Fix the damn thing. Anyway, the ugly guy. My belt, oh crap, I forgot to bring it back here. That ugly guy is the worst. I don’t know what that belt is, but it’s Defy, man. Defy! What’s so hard to understand? Google it or something, geez. If the IWGP is the be-all, end-all, I dunno. But damn, learn more about the world. And I said this before, but don’t go carrying around that tag belt when you’re alone. Carry it when you’re tagging. Don’t go carrying it around like you won a singles belt. You think so, too, Fatty, right? Are you in a position to be talking smack? Are you serious? Wait, you actually think so, don’t you? Don’t look so conflicted. Oh, and long time no see for that stick of his, Bo-Chan. It attacked me. What the hell was that?

That’s not the Bo-Chan I know. Is it wearing makeup or something? Like, it dyed it’s hair. A total makeover. I liked the old, next door type Bo-Chan. Why are you trying to act all sexy for? That damn ugly dude is getting a big head, acting like he’s the coolest guy at school. Don’t tell me he’s even becoming popular with all the staffs. Whatever. Bo-Chan’s not with me, so do as you like. I liked the innocent, black haired Bo-Chan. What’s with the pink? Come on. I won today. Look, I know we’ve had our ups and downs, Fatty. All my losses were your fault. I don’t like blaming people, but they were. But I won some, all on my own. Lost some, all your fault, of course. But we’ve come all this way, I want to tell you that I really appreciate you fighting alongside me. Thank you. Don’t nod. You’re getting way too into this. Anyway, looking back on the G1, what I really want to say was, I want those damn YouTube tips.

The Great O-Khan: Why didn’t we make comments throughout this G1? So that you’d be free to evaluate us by our matches, and matches only. The results may have been pitiful, but the content of our fight had merit. We adapted to each situation, brawling, flying, rollups, knee attacks, and pure wrestling. Yes! For a pro wrestler is proven by what he does inside that ring. Backstage comments, social media, interviews, are all just dressing. We know that. But still, people must be watching to understand. Our G1 performance was over with the audience. Take the hint. Also, something Okada said stuck with us. He said to take cue from the fans. We didn’t understand that, at first, but we’ll ponder that over this coming week.

Tanga Loa: My first singles match with Okada and I’m glad, I’m happy I got to have a singles match with Okada. A little bit fun, a little. But he seemed so angry. He was going in. He was already number one in our bracket. But he just put my head in the table a couple of times and to the mat a few times. I’m lucky to be alive. And even though Okada brutally tough on my head, taught me a lesson in there and I’m grateful. Thank you, Okada. Go hard every time. Doesn’t matter if you won your bracket or not, you keep fighting. And you’re right, Okada, thank you.

Kazuchika Okada: My league matches are done. Today was more like a friendly. I knew I was advancing either way. But Tanga, not bad. You’ve finally become a real New Japan Wrestler. I felt that fire. I’m glad this wasn’t just a exhibition. Thanks, Tanga. I’m through as first place. Let’s see who from the B Block moves on with me. I’ll be waiting. The knockout tournament, whoever it is, whatever. Obviously, I don’t know who it’ll be yet. Three more matches. No time limits. Kazuchika Okada is gonna show you exactly what it means to be the best.

El Phantasmo: It took me three Best Of The Super Jr’s to stay alive on the last day. And this G1 was my second G1. And I made it to the last day. And somehow, I feel like I’ve let myself down, I let my papa down, I let my family down, I let the fans down. And if I had any friends, I let them down, too. Phantasmo walks away to have a conversation with The Guerrillas Of Destiny

Will Ospreay: Everyone in the world, everyone is gonna talk about when it comes to professional wrestling tonight, there is no one in the world that does is better than New Japan Pro Wrestling. El Phantasmo stepped up, man. Stepped up more than ever and you gotta remember, the guy lost his granddad just before he was about to wrestle Okada. Two years ago, I lost my best friend and then I had to go wrestle Okada and I know the mental toll it takes on me. It kind of feels like you’re suffocating underneath that pressure. But tonight, I know you wanted it, but just know, like, all respect. If it was any different day, if I was having a bad day, if I just landed this morning, if there was anything along those lines, you would have won, El Phantasmo. But it was too much on the line for me, especially because I must elevate the United States Championship by winning the G1 Climax and finally facing SANADA and proving that he is nowhere near the caliber of champion that Will Ospreay is.

He’s an incredible fighter. Unfortunately, El Phantasmo, I would offer you an United Empire spot, but I prefer you on opposite teams. You test me. You make me want to be a better wrestler. I want to fight you for the rest of my life. When we’re like 50 years old performing in front of this crowd, we’re crapping our pants, can barely remember anything. That’s the guy I want to wrestle for the rest of my life. Job’s not done. I will celebrate tonight. I will go get some Krispy Kreme Original Glazed Donuts. But, there’s still so much work to be done. Thank you everybody for tuning in. Thank you everybody for coming to Osaka. And please everybody, buy your tickets because I’m going all the way to Ryogoku. I will get to the semi-finals. I will get to the finals. And we will issue in a new dawn of New Japan Pro Wrestling. Headed by us.
