POST MATCH COMMENTS
Hikuleo: Don’t call this a comeback. This is destiny
Yoshi Hashi: I know I can’t make it to the finals, but my last opponent. In a way, this is the match I’ve been looking forward to the most. Kenta. Kenta, you’re going down. Get ready for the finale of your G1 Climax.
Chase Owens: Damn it. Oh, I guess we got a little too arrogant out there. Yeah, I gave Narita a little bit too much space. Wait. What’s the chances of me winning the G1 now? Very little? Kaito lost. If Shota loses, then they lose in Osaka, there’s still a chance, right? But even if there’s not, there’s is one goal. One goal. Sanada, I may not be able to win the G1, but what I can do is something that I’ve never done before and that’s beat you in a singles match. And now there’s big stakes, right. There’s big rewards. Not only is there two points in the G1, but Sanada, around that pretty little six pack abs waist, you hold the IWPG World Title. And when I beat you in Osaka, you guaran-damn-tee I’m gonna challenge you soon. Milano, call me, please teach me The Paradise Lock. That’s the secret. That’s how I’m gonna beat Sanada. Paradise Lock. Milano.
Ren Narita: I’ve already been eliminated, but another win, another win to my name. I know it doesn’t matter now. What’s done is done. Whatever I say isn’t enough. But I’m ready to show NOAH what New Japan is all about.
Taichi: I thought he’d be up to his old tricks, but looks like he changed his ways. It’s humiliating, taking that move of his. That bastard was right on the button. With the changes he made, I think there’s more to enjoy. Let’s do it again, Phantasmo. You’ve had a change of heart, huh? Let’s see that again. I’m done. But in my own way, I won the day. It’s not only about the wins and losses. It’s about staying true to myself each and every day. It’s about not living with regrets. Win or lose, give your all. And in the end, you’ll be rewarded. Don’t let winning spoil you and don’t let losing corrupt you. I’ll enjoy each and every day, until the very end.
El Phantasmo: I ain’t gonna lie to you guys, I do not feel that good. What is it, maybe six matches now? I just got my ass handed to me, but that’s okay. I probably deserved a little bit of that. But what’s really exciting now is that it’s me and Ospreay, on the last day in Osaka. I don’t know the standings and points work, but I just kind of feel like it’s gonna be a winner take all. And it’s not lost on me that I haven’t been able to beat Ospreay in a long, long time. I think it’s over three years that I’ve kept losing and losing and losing to Ospreay. And, God, what a moment it would be in Osaka, my second home, the place that loves ELP the most, just imagine.
Gabriel Kidd: Fuck off. Damn. Champion, huh. It didn’t feel like a champion when I was beating the shit out of you. You didn’t feel like a champion when I bitched you out in front of Takamatsu. You think I won’t hold that belt one day? Why the fuck do you think I grabbed it? Because that title is mine in the future. And trust me, I’ll never forget about this, you little son of a bitch. You fucker. I’ll kill you all, I swear to god. I’m a madman, you know.
SANADA: I don’t have a problem with guys like that. I never want to forget that drive. That hunger, that violence, is what keeps you young at heart. But a word of advice, quit it with the middle finger. We might not be able to air that. We were having such a nice moment, too.
Will Ospreay: I might shit myself. Fuck me. Taking a spear from the man the size of Big T, not once but twice, fuck me, I think I might shit myself. I’m not even joking. Oh, fuck, I’m gonna need to change my underpants. He played a good game to be fair. I was no match for his power, no match at all. Well, I gave as good as I got, but he played smart, played defense. Sometimes it’s not just about the big match main events and scoring the pinfall win, but sometimes it’s best to save yourself and get those 20 counts. I can’t really have a go. I would’ve done the same thing. Oh god, I’m just disappointed. I was leading that board. Depending on how tonight goes, I’ll be first or second. I’ve got El Phantasmo, don’t I? I feel bad about this one because he’s really going through it. He’s really going through some rough times, El Phantasmo. You know, before he joined Bullet Club back in 2019, I was literally just in a bar room in Japan, he was a mate. I wouldn’t say we were best friends, but close enough to take look out for each other.
I mean he’s going through a tough time and he’s got no friends, so he’s on his own. In a normal situation, like if The Bullet Club stuff didn’t happened, if the singles matches, the tag matches and all the journey along the way, if that never happened, I’d definitely be the type of person to say if you need a friend or just someone to go out for a drink for, I would be your man. You always need someone in those situations. But too much time has passed and I know this means a lot to you, but this is my destiny to win the G1. Yeah, man, like, I wish I was just like talking to him, I wish we could leave this all behind us and all the bad blood, but there’s been too much damage. I know the G1 means a lot to you, but to make this championship be recognize as the best championship in all New Japan, I must win the G1. It sucks I have to beat you, Phantasmo. I really think it’s time to turn the corner. Not enough for me to take any sympathy on you, though. Big T, fair fight, man. Good match.
Tanga Loa: I am so exhausted. All I can give right now is a smile because I was victorious over one of the best wrestlers in the world. What an honor to wrestle Will, one on one, in the G1 of all places. I gave everything I had because I know Will gives everything he has and I am so honored to wrestle with that kid and he’s not even a kid anymore. I remember Will when he was coming up. He was just a kid. But now, now you are witnessing the man, Big Willy as he likes to call himself.
But he has grown so much. Not just in the ring, but here. That boy, that man, he’s good. He’s so good. And I gave everything I had tonight and to beat Will, trust me, I am elated, excited, overjoyed. However, my energy is that. So, I’ll thank you for tonight. Yeah, man, so good to wrestle you, the you now. I could care less about the kid, Willy. The man, Willy, though, fucking amazing. So, thank you, Will. Maybe it’s because we share the same birthday that you’ve grown to be the man you are now, because I used to be just like you, Willy, just like you.
Yota Tsuji: I’ve been talking a lot of smack about Umino, but the truth is I love fighting him. I beat you in this G1 today. But this is just the first battle in a long war. You’ll stand up over and over, but I’ll knock you down time after time. I’m gonna win. But until you can’t bear to stand up again, it’s not over. Remember this, Umino. This isn’t just talk. You’re a person that can push Yota Tsuji to the next level. I’m taking New Japan Pro Wrestling to new heights, but I can’t do it alone. Your name is destined to be on the list of the all time greats of NJPW. Don’t forget that. Prove it against Hikuleo in Osaka.
KENTA: What was the rule? What was the rule until now? Lose, win, lose, win, lose, win, we lost this time thanks to you, Fatty. What are you doing here? We were supposed to win today. Why did you have to show up? Come on, what the hell is going on? Everything is seriously screwed up now. We made a pact to win together. So what the hell happened? Hold on a minute, did you get a haircut? You got a haircut? Why did you do that? After all this time, why did you suddenly make a change now? That’s why we lost today. Everything’s gone to hell. That was tough, at the closing stretch. Come on, next, I don’t need your help to beat Mr. Dull face. If I let him beat me, then I’ll be the ugly one. There’s no way I’m letting that happen. I can’t lose to Mr. Dull face. Not a chance. You hear me? Anyway, what I really wanted to say today was, Yoshi Hashi’s entrance music is unnecessarily long.

I was looking forward to you, are you really happy to win that cheaply? You disappoint me. I’ll show you what G1 is all about. You hear me? As we roll on, we head to the climax of this G1 Climax. Quarterfinals. Semi Finals. Then the finals. Everything has been laid out. I’ll rest when I need to. Get pumped up when I need to. Focus when I need to do. I might switch things out. Perhaps some local udon noodles. I felt that, thanks.
