POST MATCH COMMENTS

The Great O-Khan: Damn it. You can’t imagine how much we truly want to say right now. However, Tonight, it was “The” Will Ospreay. Damn it. We’ll keep it at no comment for today.

Will Ospreay: It’s damn hot. My god. That was the first time I’ve had a Korakuen Hall singles match in a long time. Amazing. To once again hear the noise of everybody, thank you so much all for coming out. O-Khan, wow, missed. Had me thinking a fair fight, but then again, all’s fair in love and war. And I love The Great O-Khan like he’s my brother. So, no damage. One, two wins, that was number three. Six points, six points in the bag, baby. I can still do this, but it’s Okada, isn’t it? Difficult. Right now, especially after beating Kenny Omega at Forbidden Door and bringing back the United States Championship.

Shouldn’t step on the flag. And I feel right now, I’m the best wrestler in the world. I’m confident I can beat Okada. But I don’t think I can do it in 20 minutes. I don’t remember a single time, me and Okada have been in the ring and it hasn’t gone over 20 minutes. Can I beat him? I think I can. I just don’t know if I can do it in 20 minutes. A lot of history in Ota Ward. The first time I wrestled there, I was junior heavyweight, I faced Okada in a special singles match. Junior Heavyweight Champion vs. IWGP Heavyweight Champion. And I’ve never really been out to do it on my own. If Ota Ward’s got my back, and Tokyo’s got my back, I’ll fight to the bitter end.

Shota Umino: I finally got mine. My first win in a G1 Climax. I’ve had to walk through hell to get it. But this one triumph feels so damn good. Makes it all worth it. Everyone is paying attention to Umino, Narita, Tsuji, and Kiyomiya as the new generation in this block, but Gabe and Hikuleo are right there with us. What path they’ll choose, I don’t know. But as members of the new generation of New Japan, let’s make this company the best it’s ever been. I didn’t think a win the G1 Climax would be this hard, but I’ll be damned if I quit now. I still see myself winning this whole league. I still see myself in the main event of the Tokyo Dome. I’m gonna make up for every damn loss. I’ll show you a paradigm shift.

Taichi: Damn it, that bastard. I shouldn’t have played along with his game. I said that once I got past Ospreay and Okada, the rest are all the same, but it’s the G1 Climax, after all. No matter what you do, the wrestlers have a lot of tricks. This block is full of great wrestlers. I can’t drop anymore. Damn, this is bad.

KENTA: No, we’re not doing the heart thing. Let me sit for a sec. Damn, it’s been while since I’ve been in the blue corner. Seriously, how many years has it been? I almost feel like it’s my first time seeing you here. It’s not, right? How the hell would you remember that? Look, I know the rule is that you backstage geeks have to wear masks and all, but I’m so blown up, I’m getting even more out of breath just looking at you. You’re breathing in so hard, you’re practically inhaling the damn thing. Come on, man. You’re seriously here? Why? Perhaps you truly are the God of Victory, after all, like you’d know. Don’t nod. I’m the one who won, Fatty. You’re even fatter when you lean forward like that. Seriously, come on. I won all on my own, man.  What’s the deal with Taichi? I’m the one who won. He lost. And he’s doing a freakin’ live stream? He’s probably gonna get some tips too. I win, come back here and talk, and what? Nothing. And the loser YouTuber reaps the spoils. Who’s the true winner here? Wait, we’re here to win the G1 Climax. Right? What the hell would you know about the G1, fatty?

Since you’ve been here, I lost, I won, I lost, then I won today. Loss, win, loss, win, so I’m losing next, huh? Don’t even dare nod. You’re just screwing with me now. Like I even care if you come. Everyone’s been looking forward to this match, and you just pretend like it’s no big deal. Don’t just nod along, fatty. Come on, man. You gotta be kidding. I won today. The G1 is all about stacking up the wins. What the hell is the deal with those donations. Give me a damn donation box for these backstage comments. Put a little pop up showing how much people have donated. Even just a couple of likes. Seriously, I’m stopping this loss-win-loss-win streak. None of this loss, win stuff. Wins all the way. Don’t you dare come, Fatty. I’m not messing around. I’m not gonna make it if it continues like this. Anyway, what I really came here today to say was I’m jealous of those damn YouTube tips.

Chase Owens: Son of a bitch. Oh, Tsuji, you aren’t the sun, you are the same, you’re the Tsuji from just a few years ago. No, no, no, that trip to England, it really did you good, didn’t it? You really found yourself. Mr. Rolling Stones Magazine, congratulations, you finally got two points in the G1. Taking those high risks, I’d be careful. There’s a reason I’ve been around for nine years. There’s a reason, because it’s smarter not harder, you internet crybabies remember that. Oh, why is he in the G1? I got four more years here.

Yota Tsuji: Lot of buzz about the A Block even before this league started. But now what do you think? Is this fun for you? Or maybe it’s not? Because it’s been no damn fun for me. You get it yet? Listen. Why do you think I made such a splash in Fukuoka? Why I went to such lengths to tick off my G1 opponents? You know why? Because I need to take this company all the way into the stratosphere. I’m gonna make NJPW and this G1 more interesting than ever. It’s all wins from here on out.

Tanga Loa: I feel better. Two SuperKicks. Two Enzuigiri’s. My head hurts. But not from those kicks, no, my head hurts because I don’t know what happened. I just lost. I had that win, right there, as if I was coddling a baby to sleep. And then, 1-2-3, I am not the victory. LP up. Damn it. Hey, good win, LP. Damn. I gotta do something different. Probably need a new haircut. I don’t know. Taking the shirt off twice, still a lost. Maybe I need more clothing. I don’t know.

El Phantasmo: Fuck yeah. Fuck yeah. Let’s go, baby. Still filming? Guess what? Guess who’s next? You, your favorite, fatty. Guess what, ELP, KENTA, next game, Otaku. It doesn’t fucking matter, because I have been waiting for this moment a long time, KENTA. A long fucking time. And you think you’re gonna kick me out of the G1, right now. You better be prepared to kill me because I am coming to kill you. Ain’t that right, fatty, let’s go.

Ren Narita: The A Block. Tsuji, Shota, Gabe. Those three, of course, but also Hikuleo. You’re another one I can’t lose to. Damn it.

Hikuleo: Oh, fuck. Let me tell you a quick story. Ren Narita and I, same dojo class. Every day, training at 10am, do the amateur wrestling. Narita was the smallest one in my class. And I always underestimated him and I always got my ass whooped by him. That’s Narita. That’s not Shibata. That’s Narita. I’ll enjoy beating him while I can. He’s scary to mess with. Nonetheless, we got Tsuji, another dojo member. I know I’m not included in this whole class thing, but we’re all in there at the same time. Tsuji was my roommate. We talked about these days right here. G1. Tokyo Dome. All the big shows. Now we’re facing each other on one of those big shows. There’s no time for rest, tomorrow, we go at it. I’m looking forward to it.

Yoshi Hashi: Honestly, I’m really frustrated. Just being honest. When I first saw the schedule, I thought this match would be my big win. Over the past few years, I’ve managed to win a couple of titles. I’ve gained confidence in myself, in a lot of different ways. I had the confidence today to pull out one of the biggest wins of my career. But no matter my confidence, Okada was the better wrestler today. I honestly believe that. As Chaos teammates, we don’t get the chance to fight very often.

That makes this special. We want to show each other exactly what we’re made of. Fighting him today, I know that teaming for so long with Okada in a Chaos was a great call. Today is a milestone for me. I’m going to use this to propel me to even greater heights. But maybe next time, or the next time after that, no. Next time. I’m beating Okada. Everything can change in an instant. Next time, I’m going to show Okada exactly that.

Kazuchika Okada: My fourth win. I’m getting used to the time limit. Even after 15 minutes, I’m not worrying. They’d better worry. I’m already dialed in. It’s gonna be hell to try and beat Kazuchika Okada from here on. I’m not even banged up. You’re next, Ospreay. A rematch of the final last year. No chance of a 20-minute draw here. Damn right, Okada is going all the way to the finals. Time to make it three in a row.

Sanada: Awesome. I mean it. Coming into unfriendly waters, on your own, at that age. Bad ass. We didn’t really get the best out of each other, but this was just a first meeting. I think there will be more to come. Anyway, it was a lot of fun. I barely squeaked out a victory with that Shining Wizard at the end. As the champion, I would have liked to win more definitively. But there’s always next time.
