POST MATCH COMMENTS
Kaito Kiyomiya: I’ll take the leading role like this. I’ve repaid Canada’s debt. Next is Shota Umino.
KENTA: Damn it, fatty. You know, I may have been too hard on you, fatty. I was so certain that you were the reason for my losses. That your presence meant I couldn’t win. But I was wrong. The reality is completely opposite. You, Fatty, are my own personal good luck charm. I’m sorry, Fatty. I can’t believe I ever behaved so rudely towards you, the god of victory. I’m sorry. Will you forgive me? Don’t nod along, damnit. I won because I’m the freakin’ man. Don’t even think otherwise. I did it all on my own. You don’t even know how to stop putting on weight, porky. Come on, man. What happened to the youthful glow you had a few years ago? Not only do you get more obese by the day, but you’re aging terribly too. I mean, seriously. But maybe, just maybe, maybe I did make a mistake. Maybe you’re my good luck charm, after all. Can you come to my next match, too?
I’m a little nervous, but let’s do this together. Let me sit down for a minute. The hell is up with Grey-Ok? You were supposed to get on your knees and grovel, but you never did. You remember that? He kinda looked like he was doing it at the end there. Was he groveling? I won today. One win, one loss. It all starts from here. Let’s do this together, Fatty. All the way to the finals. No, this just doesn’t feel right. It’s pissing me off for some reason. C’mon. You know, the Kenta of 10 years or so ago would’ve hated winning by roll-up. But now that I’m older and have changed up my style, I realized it’s not so bad. When you get older, you can still change your way of thinking. All those things, you were so sure about, one by one, you gotta re-examine them. Be flexible. That’s what I am now.
People who long for the past may think, this isn’t quite right, but this is what I am now. I take pride in doing things my own way. I don’t want the people who supported the old Kenta to be embarrassed. So no matter what form of Kenta I am, I always commit 100%. Right? Right? How the hell would you know? From now on, I’m gonna do whatever it takes. Whatever it takes to win. You know, I’m defending this title at the end of August in England. Will my good luck charm come to England with me? Are you listening? I have a title defense in England. Will you, my portly good luck charm, be there at your own expense? You better do it. You said it. You better be there. Anyway, what I really wanted to say was, one win, one loss. I’m gonna keep winning from here on out. How many wins or losses my opponents have, I don’t care. Match by match, I’m doing this for the fans. Just watch me.
Hikuleo: Who the fuck was that? God. What the fuck?
Gabriel Kidd: Where are we at? Takamatsu? Yamamatsu? Damamatsu? Dama don’t give a shit. I don’t give a shit where we are. On the leaderboard, one-one, you already know what I’m on. Certified Champion in this shit. You already know and what do you think I’m gonna do after that last one? Get on Twitter, moan and complain after losing to Chase Owens. You want to know what happened after I lost to Chase Owens? I bought five tall cans of high ball, went out to find a Sendai wife, you already know what I’m on.
Listen, who’s next? Narita. Ren Narita, listen, we was in the LA Dojo together, you remember that. I’m sure he did, it’s all you could talk about on that interview. Oh, Gabe was so kind to me. Gabe was so kind because of hard practice. Yeah, everyday, hard practice. That’s how we’re built different than you Japanense bitches. We run this shit, man. Clark Connors, Alex Coughlin, you already knew that Karl is doing his thing and here we are running the game. So, where is it, Nîgata? Nigata got some nice seafood, but I’m not worried about that. I’m worried about you, Narita. Let’s see who the real strongest one is. You already know it’s me, bitch.
Tanga Loa: Taichi, you have a beautiful voice. You are a fantastic athlete. I need to work on my flexibility. Oh, my leg hurts, my knee. Gedo, Taichi Clutch, it’s tougher to get out than I thought. Job well done. Job well done, Taichi. The tournament, that’s two down, I’m one on one. I’ll watch film later on tonight and figure out what I did wrong. But what I can tell you right now, I just got to work on my flexibility and not be stiff as a board.
Taichi: What is it? You got something for me? Don’t act so surprised. There are only seven league matches this year. Half of a standard sumo tournament. That means I have the sumo equivalent of four in a row. You shocked? You shouldn’t be. I told you that I’m not kidding around. I’m making serious strides as both a professional wrestler and a YouTuber. Don’t be surprised at what’s about to come. I’m about to do something that no one has ever done before. If I only succeed at YouTube, that’s not enough. I need to do so as a pro wrestler too. I’m not joking around here.
A YouTuber with this sort of strength, I’m bound to make it all the way to the main event with Sanada. Next up is Okada. If I can destroy Okada and Ospreay, that vies my Yokozuna status. If I get past them, the ones after that are just lower ranked bums. My next match against Okada will change everything. You hear me? I won today, and being the man of many talents that I am, I’ll be livestreaming later. Taichi is so damn great. No matter what Taichi does, I still hate him. Damn that guy is gross. Hope you get your ass kicked, moron. If you think any of these things, please subscribe.
Yota Tsuji: Hey Narita, let me tell you this straight up. Tonight, I’m pretty glad you’re just a knockoff Shibata clone. You know why? Because if it was the original, real Ren Narita, if you were your own man, Narita, then today’s result might’ve been different. Who are you, Narita? You went to the LA Dojo, came back here to Japan. Where now, Narita? Who are you, in your heart of hearts? Look inside yourself, and you just might find out.
Ren Narita: Damn it.
Yoshi Hashi: To be honest, I can see how he won that IWGP US Championship. Like I said, I entered this G1 Climax because I want to win singles gold. I’m not content with just participating to fill out the field. To achieve my goal, beating the IWGP US Champion, Ospreay, would’ve been a big step forward. It wasn’t to be today, but the league’s not over yet. Next up is Tanga Loa. I’ve lost a singles match to him before. I’m gonna get him back for that in Nagaoka.
Will Ospreay: Fuck me. Chops, man. Blood is coming up a little bit. I bit my tongue. Alright, I’ll be honest with you guys, I’m a bit bummed out about that Taichi match. I was overconfident, so I deserved to lose against Taichi. But I wanted to get after Yoshi Hashi to make sure that everyone doesn’t count me out just because I lost to Taichi. If you look at that match, I was dominating 90%. I just got caught with an enzuigiri in the corner and it rocked me. Maybe I’m overconfident. I have to bring back the United States Championship to Kenny Omega. Maybe I’m a little bit overconfident. Just gotta keep your head in the game. That’s why, Yoshi Hashi, man, amazing, he’s a good pro wrestler. He’s got so good. I’ve always hated him though, he’s a fucking dork. I mean, I’m a cool dork, you know, my stupidity is almost endearing.
Everybody just seems to be doing what they want in New Japan Pro Wrestling. I’ll use Tsuji for an example. That motherfucker was in the UK for his excursion, yeah, he did a little bit of stuff in Mexico, but who gives a fuck about that, CMLL, I don’t. He came over to the UK, and I’m not afraid to say it, Tsuji was dog shit while he was in the UK. You weren’t good. He was lazy. So why is New Japan rewarding Tsuji the moment he comes back from his excursion, IWGP World Heavyweight Championship match, why? You do a shit job in the UK, then you come back and get a championship match. Now, I’ll give you credit, Tsuji, you’re amazing now. Something just clicked in your brain. You got that star presence about you. You’re incredible, but why do you get to cut the line? And I’m not, I refuse, I’m telling you now, I refuse to address Sanada as IWGP World Heavyweight Champion. You can be New Japan, everyone could call you whatever you want. But to me, until you beat me, you are not champion. So, now, I have to do everything in my power to elevate this championship. And to do that, I must win the G1 Climax.
I will not lie to you guys, I have a lot of rehabbing to do with this belt. This belt was worthless. This is a failed project. This championship was designed to be over in the United States of America. Why is it in Japan? This championship should be everywhere in America, being defended on their soil. And now I’m in charge of this belt and I’m going to make this championship worthy. I’m going to make this championship the most desired and wanted championship every. And seeing as everybody’s doing what they want in New Japan Pro Wrestling, I’m going to do what I want. I’m going to try and like chisel away at this thing and get this flag off this fucking belt. I’m going to do everything I can to get this fucking flag off this belt. In theory, this should be the Intercontinental Championship and I know I can’t get it back, but you know what? Everyone seems to be doing what they want in this fucking company. I’m just going to do what I want. I’m going to change this belt. Oh, and of course, I will win the G1 Climax.
Shota Umino: Laugh all you want. Call me an underdog or a spoiled brat, but those of you who do better keep your eyes on me. I’m going to turn this company upside down. This spoiled brat is going to change everything you thought you knew. I didn’t train all those years overseas just to come back and say, oh well, I lost. I’m going to create a paradigm shift.
Sanada: Ah, I can’t move my arm. That was rough. Umino’s an athlete who’s got it all. Technique, power, speed. So why can’t he beat me? As long as you’re being called a Fake Tanahashi or Fake Naito, you can’t make it at the top. Once he gets past that, he’ll be a monster. I’m gonna win it all. I’m coming for my first G1 Climax Championship.
El Phantasmo: Listen, listen, that’s Okada speaking. That’s not ELP speaking, that’s Kazuchika Okada. My god. I’ve wrestled Ospreay a bunch of times, I’ve wrestled Bryan Danielson, I’ve wrestled everybody in between and, god, damn, Kazuchika Okada is the number one pro wrestler. Head up, next time, my arm is going to be raised.
Kazuchika Okada: I just got my second win, but this 20-minute time limit, I’m still having issues with it. Both my matches went over 15 minutes. Yeah, I won, but it gave me a lot to think about. On the other hand, this is just another opportunity to make Okada an even stronger wrestler. And Phantasmo, a lot of guys make the division jump these days. I don’t think that going from Junior to Heavyweight is necessarily the next step.
What I saw today was a fantastic wrestler. I’ve faced so many wrestlers from overseas, getting to face different guys from different schools really lights me up. The first match I had got me going. I’ll keep this fire burning all summer long. Everyone’s doing their best to stop me, but it’s not going to happen. I’m looking forward to my third straight G1 win. In June, I was embarrassed. I need to win to erase that.
