Edge & Daniel Bryan Segment
Edge: Big contract signing tonight between Roman Reigns and Daniel Bryan, but there’s some things that I need to address. For the past few weeks, there’s a few people that’ve had my name falling out of their face, so I’ll start with you, Roman Reigns. Recently you said that, a man like me shouldn’t face a man like you. I got kids, I’m a family man, whatever the other lame excuses you want to spit out of your mouth. But I find it amusing. See, I picked up on something that seemed to fly over a lot of people’s heads, and that’s because you and Paul are great spin doctors. For weeks, you came out here and you said, acknowledge me, acknowledge you as the main event of WrestleMania. So, I made my choice, you. But then you felt what I still bring to the table, a table that on this show, I am carpenter of, by the way. And then suddenly, you back track, you make a U-Turn in Daniel Bryan Boulevard. And then Daniel Bryan goes into business for himself, and you got sucked right in, you got played, which brings me to Daniel Bryan.
Last week, you came out here and you said, that you deserve to be in the main event of WrestleMania more than I do, because you love this, because you’ve wrestled more than me in the last three months. So I think maybe it’s time that I remind you, Roman, our newer fanbase, just who the hell I am. Because while you were wrestling, maybe, once a week, I was here, wrestling five, six, seven times a week if there was a double shot on Sunday’s. Against guys like The Undertaker, John Cena, Randy Orton, Batista, Eddie Guerrero, Mr. Perfect, The British Bulldog, Terry Funk, over a time frame of four decades. And I am back here, not because I have to be, because I love this. So, please, don’t base your hypothesis on the fact you should be in the main event of WrestleMania because you love this or because you wrestled more than me in the last three months. So, like everyone else, I just have to wait to see who wins at Fastlane, to find out who I’m gonna face at WrestleMania.
Daniel Bryan: Wow, you talk about Roman Reigns getting sucked in, I think you got sucked in. You got affected by that, and honestly, that wasn’t even my intention. And, I mean, I would’ve thought as the ultimate opportunist, you would have respected me for the first time in my career, going into business for myself. But, allow me to set the record straight. I have an infinite amount of respect for what you’ve done in your career. For all the things that you’ve done, all the legends that you’ve wrestled, all the things that you’ve accomplished, I respect that. I see how hard you’ve worked at this, I’ve seen it. I see how much you love this. I see how hard you’ve fought to get back to doing this, because you love this so much, but let me be completely honest. When I wanted to challenge Roman Reigns for the Universal Championship, it wasn’t about you.
I lay on the mat at Elimination Chamber, watching you point at the WrestleMania Sign, and, yeah, I got demoralized. But not because of how few matches you’ve done this year, because I allowed myself to go into what might be my last WrestleMania, on the back burner. And that’s when I decided, I’m not gonna take it. I’m gonna throw out my one last shot. I’m gonna put it all out there. If this is gonna be my last one, and I don’t know if it is, but if this gonna be my last one, I’m gonna give everything I’ve got to be in the main event of WrestleMania. And here’s the thing, Edge, you’ve got your spot in the main event of WrestleMania, so this isn’t about you. For me, if I want to main event WrestleMania, I have to go to Fastlane, I have to face Roman Reigns, and I have to win the Universal Championship. And that is why I went into business for myself.
Edge: So, I guess if you use air quotes, that somehow cancels out everything? Yeah, I get it. Listen, maybe I should’ve made myself clearer. Roman Reigns has already beaten you. Hell, he beat you at Elimination Chamber, and I understand the circumstances, I get it, but a win is a win. And if we’re talking about wins, I won the Royal Rumble, I outlasted 29 other superstars, went 1 to 30, over 60 minutes and you were in there, by the way. Listen, I have mutual respect for you. I like you. I just don’t like how you did this. You’re better than this. But you’re not better than me.

The Roman Reigns/Daniel Bryan Contract Signing
Adam Pearce: Gentlemen, we all know why we’re here tonight. In my hand is the contract for the match at Fastlane, that will put the Universal Champion Roman Reigns against the challenger Daniel Bryan. I understand this has been looked over. Gentlemen, if there’s no further business, who’d like to sign first?
Roman Reigns: You don’t want to do this. I get it, you did everything you were supposed to do. A couple weeks ago, with Talking Smack, I agreed to it. That was a couple weeks ago. This week, I’m not feeling it. So, it’s a no, I’m not signing this. You don’t deserve it.
Daniel Bryan: Okay, well, I’m excited about this, so I’m gonna sign it. You know, who would have thought Roman Reigns was not a man of his word. You know, The Head Of The Table I never thought you’d be afraid to fight somebody like me. Oh, but you know what, now it’s all starting to make sense. Maybe that changed last week, because you know, for years, a lot of people have thought that I was better than you, you know, I thought I was better than you. But you never thought that, you always had self confidence.
But last week, I proved it, because I did something that you could never do. And I made Jey Uso quit. Does that stick in your craw? Does that make you doubt yourself? Does that make you a little bit afraid? Are you afraid to sign that contract? That’s not the head of the table, maybe I should be the self proclaimed, head of the table. Daniel Bryan, self proclaimed, head of the table, ruler of the island, head of the whole samoan family. I mean, imagine that, Afa and Sika, they would love me, I’m so kind. Oh, you don’t like that? Oh you’re gonna smash me?
Jey Uso: Enough of the disrespect. Hey, Pearce, you know what this match needs? A special guest enforcer. Somebody to make sure it’s called right down the middle, fair and damn square. And that person is me.
Edge: Hey, that sounds like a great idea, Jey. But I’ll do you one better. How about next week, for the first time in 11 years, I have a one-on-one against you, Jey Uso, winner gets to be special enforcer at Fastlane? What do you say, Pearce?
Adam Pearce: That sounds like a great idea, let’s make it official. Next week, Edge vs. Jey Uso, the winner becomes the enforcer at Fastlane.
A pier six brawl ensues in the ring. Bryan dumps Jey out of the ring. Edge tees off on Reigns. Edge shoves Bryan out of the way. Bryan connects with The Running Knee to close the show.
